Traffic participants need to clearly understand the violations of stopping at red lights in the wrong lane to ensure their own safety and avoid administrative fines, specifically:
Case 1: There is a sign or road marking indicating the direction to go.
At an intersection with traffic signals, if there are lane markings on the road surface or a sign R.411 with the content "The direction of travel on each lane must follow the road markings", then when the driver stops at a red light, if the vehicles go straight and wait for the red light in the turning lane, it is concluded that they have committed a violation.
Case 2: No sign, no line or combined sign and line
If the intersection does not have a 411 sign and a line on the roadway but only a “red light, turn right” sign, vehicles are allowed to wait for the red light in this lane. However, if the intersection has a 411 sign and a combined line, users will be allowed to go straight or turn right, so the vehicle owner waiting here will not be in violation.
