Railway stimulates tourism, reduces train ticket prices during summer peak season

In addition to the SNT1/SNT2 trains departing from Nha Trang and Saigon stations every day, VNR also operates the SNT3, SNT4, SNT5, SNT6, and SNT7 trains.

From Saigon station to Nha Trang station, train SNT4 departs at 10:05 p.m. every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, arriving at Nha Trang station at 6:30 a.m. Train SNT6 departs at 10:30 p.m. every June 1, 2, 8, 15, and 22, arriving at Nha Trang at 7:45 a.m.

From Nha Trang station to Saigon station, train SNT3 departs at 9:12 p.m. on June 4, 11, 18, and 25, arriving at Saigon station at 8:30 a.m. Train SNT5 departs at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday every week, arriving at Saigon station at 10 p.m. Train SNT7 departs at 11:05 a.m. on June 4, arriving at Saigon station at 7:50 p.m.

The railway applies a fare policy depending on the time of the week, whether it is a busy or quiet afternoon. However, the lowest fare for a seat is about 383,000 VND/ticket/trip, for a 3rd floor sleeper with 6 beds is about 488,000 VND/ticket/trip, for a 2nd floor sleeper with 4 beds is about 680,000 VND/ticket/trip.

With SNT train brands, preferential programs such as discounts for long-distance, round-trip, group and social policy beneficiaries, students, union members, and passengers with customer cards are still applied.

Specifically, passengers buying individual tickets with a travel distance of 300 km or more, when purchasing 20-39 days before the departure date, will receive a 20% discount on the ticket price; 40 days or more in advance, will receive a 30% discount. When changing or returning tickets, passengers must change or return 72 hours before the departure time, the deduction fee is equivalent to the discount on the ticket price. However, this discount policy does not apply to 4-bed cabin seats.

For passengers buying group tickets, the discount depends on the number of people in the group and the time of purchase before departure. Groups of 11 - 40 people, purchasing 1 - 19 days before departure, get a 3% discount, 20 days or more in advance, get a 5% discount. Groups of 41 - 70 people, the corresponding discounts are 5%, 7%; groups of 71-100 people, the corresponding discounts are 7%, 9%; groups of 101 people or more, the corresponding discounts are 9%, 11%.

In addition, Saigon Railway Transport Branch is applying attractive ticket discount policies for groups of 10 - 100 people/group/train of travel companies registered to participate in the tourism stimulus program with the Tourism Association of provinces and cities. During non-peak periods from August 21 - August 30 and from September 5 - December 27, 2023.

Applicable to trains SE3/SE4 running from Monday to Wednesday, trains SE7/SE8 and SE21/SE22 running from Monday to Thursday, tickets with a travel distance of over 751 km will be discounted at the following levels: If tickets are issued 5 - 19 days before the train departure date, the ticket price for a seat will be reduced by 30%, the ticket price for a sleeper will be reduced by 20%; 20 - 29 days in advance, the corresponding discounts are 35% and 25%; 30 days or more in advance, the corresponding discounts are 40% and 30%.

During the summer transportation period, the railway applies other attractive ticket discounts from 15 - 35% depending on the train brand, departure date, transportation distance and ticket issuance time before departure date.

For tour guides, the railway also reduces ticket prices. Specifically: 90% discount on seat or sleeper ticket in cabin 6 or 70% discount on sleeper ticket in cabin 4 for 1 tour guide for a group of 10 - 50 people (not including tour guide) and for 2 tour guides for a group of 51 - 100 people (not including tour guide).
