EU dares not admit that Ukraine will find it difficult to win

According to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, military experts all agree that Ukraine cannot win on the battlefield, but only politicians do not dare to admit it.

Prime Minister Orban said that at the beginning of the conflict, a victory for Kiev seemed a realistic scenario, but now it is clear that this is unlikely.

“This is what all military experts are saying and writing, but politicians do not dare to say that they have chosen a bad strategy,” Mr. Orban told the media on October 27.

Mr Orban said that the leadership of the European Union (EU) should be changed because they are unable to handle the current crisis.

“Maybe in peacetime, when the water is calm, the wind is calm and the boat can be rowed, they are good leaders. But now, in times of storms, big waves, and danger, the union certainly cannot prosper with this leadership. We need to change the EU leadership in Brussels,” Mr. Orban emphasized.

Also on October 27, the European Union held a summit in Belgium to discuss the bloc's "hot" issues.

These include tensions between Israel and the Islamist Hamas movement, the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, efforts to support Kiev, as well as economic, migration and EU security and defense issues.

The EU summit takes place in a context where EU member states have recently faced high concerns following attacks and a series of terrorist threats, as well as disagreements related to resolving the migration crisis.

Speaking at the conference, Hungarian Prime Minister Orban described forcing EU member states to accept some of the migrants or pay them as “legal coercion”. Given these reactions, the approval of the EU-27 member states on the Migration and Asylum Pact seems far away.
