All units in EVNNPC are monitoring and grasping the weather on the media about the path and impact of storm No. 3 to proactively prepare plans for natural disaster prevention and search and rescue.

On the afternoon of September 5, 2024, working delegations led by the leaders of Vietnam Electricity Group, Northern Power Corporation and the Safety and Technical Departments, etc. also went to inspect the preparations for storm No. 3 in the provinces including: Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh ... The working delegation of Vietnam Electricity Group and EVNNPC directly directed and inspected the work of preventing storm No. 3 (storm Yagi ) at Yen Cu 110kV station (Ha Long city).

At the local level, the Electricity Companies have implemented the 4-on-the-spot motto, mobilizing human resources, means and materials to promptly overcome damages and incidents, promptly restoring power supply to customers. Prepare materials, means and spare equipment to be ready to respond to the next stages. In addition, right from the time of the storm, even during the Vietnam National Day holiday, the units still increased the frequency of periodic inspections, reviewed and checked transformer stations, pole positions on power lines at high risk of landslides, had to develop plans and solutions to reinforce and promptly fix defects to ensure safe operation and stable power supply.

Units in EVNNPC regularly monitor and update information on the developments of storm No. 3, coordinate with local authorities, steering committees for the protection of high-voltage power grid safety at all levels, central and local press agencies to focus on strongly propagating to electricity users instructions and warnings on safety in daily life during storms and floods.

Ninh Binh Electricity Company organized pruning and clearing of power grid corridors before typhoon No. 3 made landfall.

Currently, Power Companies have plans to ensure power supply for important loads and pumping stations when flooding occurs.

The Corporation also requires Hydropower Companies and Power Companies managing small Hydropower plants to organize inspections and promptly fix defects in dam reservoirs, spillway operating equipment; independent power sources (local, backup Diesel...) for spillway lifting equipment to ensure the system is always ready to operate well.

Units thoroughly require workers to comply with regulations on ensuring labor safety during the performance of tasks as well as when participating in traffic; in particular, pay attention when going through flooded areas, crossing rivers and streams, wearing life jackets, avoiding drowning, taking measures to ensure safety when crossing rivers and streams, avoiding sinking or drifting of cars, motorbikes, tools, equipment, materials, etc.; Closely coordinate with local authorities and relevant agencies in reservoir operations and flood discharge to ensure the safety of dams, especially for people and property in downstream areas, etc.

EVN and EVNNPC's Steering Committee for Storm Prevention and Control inspected storm prevention work No. 3 in Hai Phong.

EVNNPC also informed that for projects under construction and newly energized projects, there must be plans to ensure safety for labor force, equipment, and construction works, especially to prevent risks of landslides, floods, etc., with signs and instructions to avoid dangerous locations that cause unsafety, and review related property insurance records, construction insurance, etc.
