All units within EVNNPC are monitoring and gathering information from various media outlets regarding the path and impact of Typhoon No. 3 in order to proactively implement disaster prevention and search and rescue plans.

On the afternoon of September 5, 2024, working groups led by leaders of Vietnam Electricity Group, Northern Power Corporation, and specialized departments for Safety, Technology, etc., conducted on-site inspections of preparations for typhoon No. 3 in provinces including Hai Phong , Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, etc. Today, September 6, 2024, working groups from the Corporation will continue their visits to Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, and other provinces.

A delegation from Vietnam Electricity Group and EVNNPC directly supervised and inspected the storm prevention and control work for Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi ) at the Yen Cu 110kV substation (Ha Long City).

Locally, power companies have implemented the "four on-site" principle, mobilizing personnel, vehicles, and materials to urgently address damage and incidents, and promptly restore electricity supply to customers. They have also prepared backup materials, vehicles, and equipment to be ready for subsequent phases. Furthermore, even during Vietnam's National Day holiday, from the moment the storm warning was issued, units increased the frequency of regular inspections, reviewing and checking substations and pole locations on power lines at high risk of landslides. They have developed plans and solutions to reinforce and rectify any defects promptly to ensure safe operation and stable electricity supply.

EVNNPC units regularly monitor and update information on the developments of typhoon No. 3, coordinating with local authorities, the steering committee for the protection of high-voltage power grid infrastructure at all levels, and central and local press agencies to focus on strongly disseminating information to electricity customers about safety guidelines and warnings for daily life during storms and floods.

Ninh Binh Power Company organized the trimming and clearing of vegetation along the power line corridors before typhoon number 3 made landfall.

Currently, power companies have plans in place to ensure electricity supply to critical loads and drainage pumping stations in the event of flooding.

The Corporation also requested that hydropower companies and power companies managing small hydropower plants promptly inspect and rectify any defects in dams, spillway operating equipment, and independent power sources (local, backup diesel, etc.) for spillway lifting equipment to ensure the system is always ready to operate effectively.

The units instructed employees to comply with regulations ensuring occupational safety during the performance of their duties and while participating in traffic; in particular, they should wear life jackets when crossing flooded areas or rivers and streams to prevent drowning, and take measures to ensure safety when crossing rivers and streams, preventing cars, motorbikes, tools, equipment, and materials from sinking or being swept away; closely coordinate with local authorities and relevant agencies in the operation of reservoirs and flood releases to ensure the safety of dams, especially people and property in downstream areas…

The Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of EVN and EVNNPC inspected the storm prevention and control work for typhoon No. 3 in Hai Phong.

EVNNPC also informed that for projects under construction and newly commissioned projects, there must be plans to ensure the safety of workers, equipment, and structures, especially to prevent the risk of landslides and floods, etc., with warning signs and instructions at locations with potential safety hazards, and a review of relevant property insurance and construction insurance records.
