The statement specifically mentioned generative AI, a form of artificial intelligence (capable of generating new content from existing content) that has become popular thanks to the ChatGPT application, in the context of the G7 leaders affirming the "immediate need to assess the opportunities and challenges of generative AI".
Also according to Reuters , the G7 summit declared that state-backed investment in the gas sector may be temporarily appropriate while countries accelerate efforts to wean themselves off dependence on Russia.
"We underline the important role of increasing the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and recognise that investment in this sector can help to cope with the current crisis and address the shortage in the gas market," the statement said.
