Galaxy S25 Ultra will have a super camera system

Samsung’s “Ultra” formula has been applied to many generations of phones, especially when it comes to cameras. A high-resolution main sensor is combined with a telephoto and ultra-wide lens cluster, which often has a significantly lower resolution.

The current Galaxy S24 Ultra features a 200MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. This setup is quite similar to previous generations, with the main difference being the S23 Ultra with two 10MP telephoto cameras and the S21 Ultra and S22 Ultra using a 108MP main camera. However, this could change with significant upgrades coming soon.

According to source Ice Universe on Weibo, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will keep the same 200MP main camera as the S24 Ultra, but upgrade the resolution to 50MP for both the telephoto and ultra-wide cameras. This information is still vague due to translation issues, but shows that the camera of the next flagship from Samsung will have a significantly higher resolution.

While most of its Android rivals are currently using 50MP or higher cameras on their flagships, Samsung has stuck with 10MP and 12MP sensors for the telephoto and ultra-wide cameras on its top-end Galaxy S series. However, it looks like the Korean company will change this next year to catch up with its rivals.

The source also said that the S25 Ultra screen is the same size as its predecessor model at 6.8 inches.

Previously, an anonymous source provided images that appear to be the potential design of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Accordingly, there are four prototypes that are said to be in the testing process, each version will have a slight difference in the frame.

And from the renders, it can be seen that Samsung will equip the S25 Ultra with a punch-hole front camera in the same position as the S24 Ultra's front camera. Overall, there won't be much difference in the design of the S25 Ultra, but it's almost certain that the next generation will have significantly thinner screen bezels than the current one.

It is known that the product may launch exclusively with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. However, there are sources saying that Samsung may launch two versions, one using Exynos 2500.
