Both devices have improved design and functionality, with prices not much different from the previous generation. The effectiveness of the changes is immediately reflected in device sales in Vietnam.

Speaking to Tri Thuc - Znews, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Thanh, Deputy Director of Phone Industry,FPT Shop system, said that the silver gray Z Fold7 version is currently out of stock. A similar situation also appears in the red color of Z Flip7. Sales of the device line also increased by about 50% compared to the same period.

Mr. Nguyen Lac Huy, media representative of the CellphoneS system, confirmed that the two Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 versions mentioned above were also sold out at this unit. The choice allocation rate was also overwhelming for the expensive horizontal folding model. “74% of customers chose the Z Fold7. 26% for the Z Flip line,” Mr. Huy shared.

During the opening sale at the end of July, the Mobile World system also reported similar numbers. The two models had increased purchasing power compared to the previous generation. At the same time, the Z Fold7 sold better than the Flip.

The machine line has improved design and thinness.

According to dealers, the growth momentum for the series mainly comes from old customers upgrading and switching from Galaxy S. This year, the two models have significantly improved in design, overcoming many inherent problems. Compared to Chinese devices of the same range, Samsung's duo, especially the Fold model, is no longer inferior in design.

Among them, the Z Fold7 has been overhauled with the same thinness and weight as a bar phone, lighter than the new iPhone. According to the announcement, this device is only behind the Honor Magic V5 in terms of thickness. However, in actual tests, the Samsung foldable phone is the thinnest device in the world of foldable smartphones today.

The company also changed the display ratio to give users a wider external screen, avoiding the narrow horizontal phenomenon, making it difficult to type like previous generations. The trade-off is that the Z Fold7 is wider, making it difficult to hold with one hand. The new hinge is less flexible and more difficult to open than the Z Fold6.

Meanwhile, the Z Flip7 received improvements in the edge-to-edge outer screen and optimized dimensions. Compared to the product launched at the same time, it received less attention. Reports from Korean media units also reflected the market trend leaning towards the horizontal folding line. For the first time in Samsung's homeland, the Fold received more pre-orders than the Flip.

The good purchasing power in Vietnam is also directly reflected in the selling price. The two devices were launched with listed prices of 29 and 47 million VND respectively. Currently, at dealers, the prices of the devices are not much different, at 27 and 45 million VND, 2 million VND cheaper. In fact, the company has included gifts of 2-3 million VND since the sale began.

Previously, the company often reduced prices quite early on slow-selling products. For example, with some models of the Galaxy S25 line, dealers reduced prices by 4-9 million VND after a short time to clear inventory.

In addition to Samsung, Oppo and Honor also sell foldable products in Vietnam. However, the plan to launch the new Find N has not been announced yet. Meanwhile, the Honor Magic V5 has just been launched internationally and has a chance to be sold in Vietnam in the second half of the year. Chinese companies show signs of extending the life cycle of foldable devices with few upgrades. Xiaomi only announced the new Mix Flip in June, while the Fold model has no successor.
