Attending the ceremony were comrades: Le Tien Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation; Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Pham Van Lap, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council, along with comrades of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairmen of the City People's Committee; leaders of the city's departments, branches and sectors and the family of the late General Secretary Do Muoi.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho affirmed: The ceremony of naming Do Muoi Street on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2025) is to commemorate the event in 1955, when the late General Secretary Do Muoi was assigned to take over the 300-day area, serving as Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Hai Phong City Military Commission (March 1955). At the same time, it is an occasion to honor and commemorate the late General Secretary Do Muoi - a person with great contributions to the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland of Vietnam and building Hai Phong city, contributingto educating the revolutionary historical tradition for generations. It can be affirmed that during his time as Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, especially in the early days of taking over the city, in an extremely difficult context, he quickly grasped the situation, proposed clever strategies, skillfully led the movement, both building a new life for the people and dealing with internal and external enemies. Thanks to that, Hai Phong maintained the People's government, expanded the National United Front, built a large and strong armed force; completely defeated the invasion plot of the French colonialists. In that common victory, there was a very important contribution of the late Secretary of the City Party Committee Do Muoi. Later, although he held many higher positions, he still had a special affection for Hai Phong, through each visit and work with the Port City, he left many strong impressions in the hearts of cadres, soldiers and people of Hai Phong.

At the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, daughter of the late General Secretary Do Muoi, emotionally shared: “The decision of Hai Phong city to name a street after him is not only a noble recognition of his lifelong contributions to his homeland and country, but also a source of encouragement and deep pride not only for the people of Hai Phong city but also for our family, clan, and descendants. Our family vows to continue to preserve and promote the values, ethics, and spirit of service that he left behind, worthy of the affection and respect that Hai Phong Port City has for him.”

Do Muoi Street starts from the foot of Hoang Van Thu Bridge and extends to the VSIP Industrial Park axis. This is a street with beautiful, synchronous, modern infrastructure and is located in the center of the North Cam River Political - Administrative Center.

This route was invested in 2019, located in the overall project of building technical infrastructure of the new urban area of Bac Song Cam, with a length of about 1.6 km from Hoang Van Thu bridge to the end of the project, the road width is 66 m; with 10 lanes, sidewalks, trees and a synchronous and modern technical infrastructure system. The total investment of the project is 1,066 billion VND, from the city budget. It is the main axis of the area, connecting the urban core of Hai Phong with the new Political - Administrative Center of the city./.
