Domestic coffee price list updated at 4:00 a.m. on December 19, 2024, all decreased

Below is an overview of the world and Vietnamese coffee market situation as of December 18, 2024:

Regarding the world coffee market, global coffee production in 2024 is expected to decrease slightly compared to last year, mainly due to climate change and disease. Major producing countries such as Brazil, Vietnam, Colombia and Indonesia still hold the leading positions in coffee exports. Brazil, with its large planting area and modern farming technology, continues to be the world's largest coffee producer.

Coffee prices have been volatile lately, rising and falling erratically and mostly falling along with US stock exchanges as the US Federal Reserve (Fed) begins its meeting at the end of 2024. The coffee futures market may experience volatility as the Fed makes monetary policy decisions.

For the Vietnamese coffee market, the US Department of Agriculture expects Vietnam's Robusta coffee harvest to reach 29 million bags, while Volcafe expects around 24.5 million bags. In October 2024, Vietnam exported 50,000 tons of coffee, worth 292.7 million USD. The total volume of coffee exported in the first 10 months of 2024 reached 1.4 million tons, bringing in 3.2 billion USD.

Vietnam's coffee export prices hit a record high, with the average price in the second quarter of 2024 reaching $4,103 per ton, up 24.7% from the first quarter and 60.4% year-on-year. Vietnam's coffee market is expected to reach $511.03 million in 2024 and could grow to $763.46 million by 2029.

A notable event, in early December 2024, EDE Farm Trading and Service Company Limited (headquartered in Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province) exported the first container containing 18,000 packages of roasted and ground coffee of the MISS EDE brand to the US market.

This is a finished coffee product of EDE Farm Trading and Service Company Limited, packaged in Vietnam, not raw coffee or processed labels. Coffee is processed according to the fermentation process that meets US FDA standards. Coffee ingredients are grown in sustainable farming areas that do not encroach on natural forests, are EUDR certified and are managed by Dak Lak 2/9 Import-Export Company Limited. The importing enterprise is in the state of Illinois (USA), distributing products in local supermarket systems, opening up opportunities to reach US consumers and enhancing the Vietnamese brand in the international market.

Mr. Hoang Danh Huu, founder of MISS EDE, shared that the company's achievements have the support and companionship of the government, departments, branches and many related units. This is the result of the national trade promotion event (Vietnam Sourcing Fair), with support from the Department of Industry and Trade of Dak Lak province.

According to the assessment, the global coffee market is experiencing price fluctuations due to many factors, including monetary policy and economic fluctuations. Vietnam, as a major coffee producer and exporter, continues to maintain stable output and achieve high export value. However, factors such as climate change and international market fluctuations may affect the coffee industry in the coming time.
