Building boarding schools in border areas.
Speaking with a reporter from Thanh Nien newspaper , Ms. Le Thi Thanh Xuan, Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, said that the department has submitted a proposal to the Provincial People's Committee regarding the construction of three multi-level boarding schools in the border communes of Ia Rve, Ia Lop, and Buon Don. This is a concrete step to implement Government Resolution 298, while also creating a safe and modern learning and living environment for children of ethnic minorities.
According to Ms. Xuan, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training has proactively coordinated with relevant departments, agencies, and local authorities to review the needs, scale, land availability, and investment capital.
"Tasks such as identifying the location, area, land ownership, compensation plan, and land clearance have all been completed. We have coordinated closely with border communes to ensure the feasibility of the project's implementation," Ms. Xuan said.

Although the Ministry of Education and Training and other central ministries and agencies have not yet issued detailed guidelines on the implementation of Resolution 298, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training has proactively prepared all necessary content. The unit also requested the Provincial People's Committee to allow a postponement of the detailed plan development until guidance is received from the central government, in order to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
Based on a survey of student needs for the period 2026-2030, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training has compiled a list and investment plan with a total proposed budget of 585 billion VND for 3 projects to build boarding schools in border areas.
Ensuring educational standards and quality in border regions.
According to the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, the investment scale for the three aforementioned multi-level boarding schools has increased compared to the initial proposal. After review, the number of students in the three communes of Ia Rvê, Ia Lốp, and Buôn Đôn all exceed the 30 classes limit set by the Ministry of Education and Training, requiring an increase in classrooms, boarding facilities, and other supporting infrastructure.
In addition, the area and design of the buildings recommended by the National Institute of Architecture are larger than the previous model, in order to fully meet the standards for teaching, living, and physical training. Some existing structures that are no longer suitable for the new functional zoning plan will be demolished or renovated to change their function.

According to representatives from the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, building boarding schools in border areas involves more than just constructing classrooms; it also requires investing in comprehensive infrastructure, from playgrounds and roads to electricity, water supply, and fire safety systems. These are crucial factors in ensuring the safety and sustainability of schools in border regions.
Currently, many teaching equipment in border schools is old, damaged, and no longer suitable for the 2018 General Education Program. Therefore, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training proposes investing in completely new equipment to ensure synchronized and modern facilities in accordance with government standards.

According to the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, increasing the scale and investment capital is necessary to improve the quality of education in border areas, helping students have a learning environment, physical training, and comprehensive development, on par with other developed regions.
"This is not just about building schools, but about building a solid future for the children of ethnic minorities in the border regions of our country," Ms. Xuan shared.
The Dak Lak Department of Education and Training is requesting the Provincial People's Committee to consider and report to the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Finance for compilation and submission to competent authorities for allocation of funds to soon implement the project to build three boarding schools in border areas, contributing to the sustainable development of education in Dak Lak and narrowing the regional gap.
