The 2025 Study Abroad Conference in Japan was successfully held in Hanoi, attracting nearly 1,600 students, parents and representatives of domestic educational and training institutions.

The event was organized by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) in coordination with the Center for International Education Development (CIED) under the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Training , and the Vietnam Alumni Club in Japan (VAJA), under the auspices of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam.

Speaking at the conference, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki said that the Japanese Government is implementing many measures to achieve the goal of increasing the number of international students in the country to 400,000 by 2033. Currently, the total number of international students in Japan has reached about 340,000.

Notably, the number of Vietnamese students studying in Japan is increasing rapidly again after the Covid-19 pandemic, currently reaching about 40,000 people and is expected to soon reach 50,000 in the near future.

According to Ambassador Ito Naoki, the Japan Study Abroad Seminar is one of the important activities contributing to promoting, providing information and encouraging Vietnamese students to choose Japan as a study destination.

This year's seminar provides comprehensive and up-to-date information on the Japanese education system, application process, scholarships, international student life and post-graduation employment opportunities.

Within the framework of the event, representatives of Japanese universities and educational institutions directly consulted, answered questions, and shared practical experiences from former international students, helping attendees have a clearer and more practical perspective on their study journey in Japan.

The event not only serves as a bridge between educational institutions of the two countries but also contributes to strengthening Vietnam-Japan cooperation in the field of education and training, aiming to develop high-quality human resources in the context of deep international integration.
