The match between Vietnam and Nepal had no VAR, the home team wore red.
On the afternoon of October 8, at the meeting room of Go Dau Stadium (Thu Dau Mot Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), a technical meeting took place before the match between the Vietnamese team and the Nepal team, within the framework of the first leg of the final qualifying round of the Asian Cup 2027 (Group F), taking place at 7:30 p.m. on October 9.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - General Secretary of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Mr. Vu Duc Thanh - Co-Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HFF), match supervisors, referee supervisors and representatives of the two teams Vietnam, Nepal and members of the match organizing committee.
On behalf of the VFF leadership, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu welcomed the match officials and the Nepal team who arrived in Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifying match with the Vietnam team. Mr. Nguyen Van Phu hopes that the away team will quickly get used to the weather in Vietnam and prepare best for the match.
Representative of the local organizing committee, Mr. Vu Duc Thanh - Co-Chairman of HFF, said that the preparations for the match between Vietnam and Nepal have been thoroughly completed, from the quality of the playing field, security, medical work... Mr. Vu Duc Thanh wished the two teams good luck.
At the technical meeting, representatives of the two teams were approved a number of notable issues regarding the competition. Accordingly, the Vietnamese team took the field in their traditional red uniform.
Also in the afternoon of the same day, the Vietnamese team had 1 hour of practice on the field.

The match between Vietnam and Nepal will take place at 7:30 p.m. at Go Dau Stadium and will be broadcast live on YouTube VFF Channel,FPT Play and VTV.

The main referee team is from Korea. The main referee is Choi Hyun-jai. He started his refereeing career in 2019 and was recognized as a FIFA referee in 2020. Referee Choi Hyun-jai officiated a match of the Vietnam U23 team in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers.
The two assistant referees are Bang Gi-yoel and Cheon Jin-hee. The fourth referee is Mr. Chae Sang-hyeop. The match supervisor is Mr. Wang Xiao from China and the referee supervisor is Mr. Tang Yew Mun from Singapore.
