- According to records, the agricultural materials market in the province tends to increase slightly in fertilizer prices compared to the same period last year and compared to April 2025, the increase ranges from 3% - 4%.
Notably, nitrogen fertilizer (Urea) is currently priced at 12,000 - 12,800 VND/kg, an increase of about 500 VND/kg compared to May 2024 and an increase of 100 - 1,000 VND/kg compared to April 2025. Similarly, phosphate fertilizer (Superphosphate) also increased significantly, fluctuating from 6,720 - 10,160 VND/kg, an increase of 1,200 - 1,480 VND/kg compared to the previous year and 440 - 880 VND/kg compared to the previous month.
The price of NPK compound fertilizer is currently at 5,160 - 18,000 VND/kg, depending on the nutritional content, increasing by up to 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous month and 1,500 VND/kg compared to the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, the price of potassium fertilizer remains stable at 10,400 VND/kg compared to the previous month, but has decreased by 1,600 VND/kg compared to May 2024.
On average, each year, farmers in Lang Son province need to use about 40,000 tons of various fertilizers, of which the Winter-Spring crop accounts for a large volume, about 22,000 - 23,000 tons.
Fertilizer costs account for a significant portion of total production costs. The slight increase in fertilizer prices will impact farmers' agricultural production costs, especially in preparation for the 2025 Winter-Spring crop.
According to records, the current supply of fertilizers is still stable, meeting the needs of the people. Suppliers, agents, and stores adjust prices daily. Authorities recommend that farmers need to have a plan to use fertilizers reasonably and economically, fertilize at the right time and dosage. At the same time, closely monitor market developments and apply advanced farming methods to reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers.
