Ms. Tran Hai Van, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and Mr. Seksun Ngawsuwan, Assistant Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand co-chaired the meeting.
Attending the meeting were representatives of relevant agencies and ministries of both countries, including: Ministry of Home Affairs ; Ministry of Education and Training; Union of Friendship Organizations on the Vietnamese side, and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Tourism Authority of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City on the Thai side.

At the meeting, the two sides focused on discussing and exchanging extensively on cooperation contents within the framework of the Cultural-Social Group.
On behalf of Vietnam, Ms. Tran Hai Van presented a draft summary report, highly appreciating the cooperation results achieved in recent times and proposing important directions to further deepen bilateral relations in the fields of culture, tourism, sports, education, labor and people-to-people exchange.
Specifically, Vietnam proposed to strengthen cooperation in the fields of cultural heritage and museum exchanges, support each other at multilateral cultural forums, and request Thailand to support the preservation of Vietnamese cultural works and historical relics in Thailand.

In the tourism sector, Vietnam emphasizes the promotion of sustainable tourism development, accelerating the application of digital transformation in tourism management and promotion. Sports cooperation is focused on increasing the exchange of delegations, experts, coaches, athletes and cooperation in training young talents. It is proposed that both sides continue to support international sports events held in the two countries.
Regarding education, Vietnam proposed to promote the establishment of a Vietnamese language center in Thailand. The labor sector aims to resume comprehensive cooperation, including negotiating new cooperation documents. Regarding people-to-people exchanges, the two sides agreed to continue to facilitate exchange activities and support the preservation of symbolic works of friendship in Thailand.
In response, Thailand acknowledged Vietnam's proposal and expressed special interest, making specific proposals to enhance connectivity in the tourism sector.

The main contents that the Thai side emphasized include promoting seamless tourism connectivity such as self-driving tourism across borders and expanding direct flights, enhancing experience exchange and cooperation in developing new tourism products, establishing sister city partnerships between provinces and cities, and cooperating in improving the capacity of human resources working in the tourism industry.

The Cultural-Social Group meeting was a great success. Delegates attending the meeting actively contributed their opinions within their professional fields, contributing to reaching a high consensus on many important contents, creating a solid foundation for both sides to complete the report to be submitted to the 4th Joint Cabinet Meeting.
The meeting results demonstrated the strong commitment of both Vietnam and Thailand to continuously consolidate and develop the traditional friendship and enhanced strategic partnership, contributing to the common development of both countries and the region.
