The person who brought Dong Rui duck egg brand far and wide

Vu Tuan Anh's day begins at dawn, when duck farmers come to deliver eggs to the cooperative. Tuan Anh said: On average, the cooperative buys about 8,000 eggs from duck farmers every day. Up to now, there are 20 households participating in raising sea ducks for eggs with a total flock of about 10,000 ducks grazing on an area of ​​about 100 hectares of alluvial land and water surface. Dong Rui sea duck eggs are large, have thick shells, are fragrant, rich, and have more yolk than freshwater duck eggs, so they are favored by many people. However, in the past, Dong Rui farmers only raised them on a small scale, the quality of the eggs was uneven, the economic efficiency was low, and the brand was at risk of fading.

Faced with that situation, in 2019, with the guidance and support of the Farmers' Association of Dong Rui commune, Mr. Tuan Anh boldly stood up to run the cooperative supplying sea duck eggs and named it Dong Tien Livestock and Service Cooperative. From 7 households initially participating, the scale of livestock farming has been increasingly expanded with more households participating. To achieve the goal of building a brand and product value chain, the cooperative identified production as the most important stage.

"In order for Dong Rui sea duck eggs to meet consistent quality standards, we have developed a separate breeding process for the cooperative, applicable to all members. Accordingly, the cooperative will support from supplying breeds, feed, transferring breeding techniques, disease prevention, vaccination... to product consumption. Member households only need to take care of the livestock and collect sea duck eggs every day" - Mr. Tuan Anh shared.

Thanks to tightening management, quality control and focusing on building designs, packaging and brands, Dong Rui sea duck eggs are becoming more and more well-known. In particular, Mr. Tuan Anh also actively attended seminars and trade promotions in Ha Long, Hanoi, Vinh Phuc and introduced and promoted products on e-commerce platforms... to bring Dong Rui sea duck eggs further. Not only maintaining the title of 4-star OCOP product, Dong Rui sea duck eggs are also honored by the Provincial People's Committee as a typical agricultural product in 2021 and 2023. Currently, this product has a stable consumption in large supermarkets, food stores, clean agricultural products in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh... and is entering the kitchens of coal companies such as Mong Duong Coal Company, Khe Cham Coal Company.

Mr. Vu Tuan Anh’s efforts in building the Dong Rui sea duck egg brand have also contributed to improving the lives of local people. Currently, the average income of sea duck farming households participating in the cooperative is about 10 million VND/person/month. In addition, Mr. Tuan Anh also actively participates in local social security activities.

Sharing more, Mr. Tuan Anh said: “In the long term, I am still planning to invest in deep processing to upgrade the OCOP product Dong Rui Sea Duck Egg. Along with that, I will continue to accompany sea duck farmers to develop the scale, enhance the brand, the goal is to bring this product further, increase income for members participating in the cooperative”.
