Developing world-class tourism has been identified by Lam Dong province as one of the four strategic economic pillars shaping the local strength.

According to the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with its unique advantages and a "super complex" of attractions: Da Lat - the land of a thousand flowers, Mui Ne - resorts, Dak Nong - the vast forests, along with numerous cultural and historical relics and cultural heritage of the K'ho, Ma, M'nong, and Cham people... Lam Dong possesses immense resources for developing cultural, experiential, exploratory, and resort tourism. The First Congress of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee (2025-2030 term) outlined four strategic economic pillars, emphasizing the development of world-class tourism, focusing on effectively exploiting the natural, ecological, and cultural potential of each region – the blue sea, the land of a thousand flowers, and the vast forests – combined with the application of science and technology and innovation to elevate Lam Dong tourism to an international level. Accordingly, tourism will be developed in diverse forms, including: beach and island tourism, mountain tourism, agricultural tourism, eco-cultural and heritage tourism, adventure sports tourism, and cave exploration. These tourism products will not only contribute to promoting the image of Lam Dong's land and people, but also create a sustainable economic value chain.

To realize the above goal, Lam Dong has established a tour linkage model "One journey - three experiences," connecting three localities: Binh Thuan's coast - Lam Dong's mountains - Dak Nong's forests, creating a deep, multi-experience inter-regional tourism product, enhancing the competitiveness of domestic tourism. Regarding brand building, Lam Dong's tourism industry is promoting a consistent message: "From the blue sea to the high mountains," targeting the international market and affirming Lam Dong's position on the regional and global tourism map. In addition, Lam Dong is also focusing on applying digital technology and scientific achievements of the 4.0 industrial revolution to tourism development, aiming to improve management efficiency, service quality, and visitor experience. According to the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the near future, Lam Dong will continue to invest in and develop new tourism products such as: health and wellness tourism at the beach and mountains, tourism combined with seminars, conferences, incentives, and meetings, agricultural tourism associated with planting, caring for, processing, and enjoying coffee, tea, and dragon fruit, and various types of adventure sports tourism including golf, paragliding, and surfing... According to Mr. Bui Van Hai - a veteran tour guide in the province, after the merger, Lam Dong has enormous tourism potential. Along with the internationally recognized brand of Da Lat, Lam Dong also has Phan Thiet - Mui Ne - the resort and marine sports capital, famous for windsurfing and kitesurfing, and Dak Nong - an ecological gem, home to the UNESCO Global Geopark Dak Nong, with the longest volcanic cave system in Southeast Asia, and Ta Dung Lake, likened to Ha Long Bay on land. "Once the road connecting Da Lat - Phan Thiet - Gia Nghia is upgraded and the transportation infrastructure is well-developed, the tourism advantages of the aforementioned areas will certainly be maximized," Mr. Bui Van Hai asserted.

Indeed, developing transportation infrastructure is a key factor, alongside researching and investing in tourist amenities such as mountain railways, cable car systems, and tourist boats to create unique experiences and scenic views. However, to successfully achieve these goals, strengthening regional linkages between the South Central region, the Central Highlands, and the Southeast region, promoting public-private partnerships, and expanding international cooperation will be key solutions, creating comprehensive resources and enhancing the competitiveness of Lam Dong's tourism industry to reach international standards.
