Restaurants and hotels in Dong Van district signed contracts to sell agricultural products to people.

NDO - In order to promote agricultural production, Dong Van district, Ha Giang province has mobilized restaurants and hotels to sign contracts to consume agricultural products with local people.

Since the beginning of 2025, 7 restaurants and hotels in the center of Dong Van district have signed contracts to consume typical agricultural products with hundreds of households in communes and towns in Ha Giang province.

To date, restaurants and hotels have consumed more than 4,600 kg of beef, nearly 7,000 kg of local chicken, more than 5,000 kg of pork, 1,382 kg of goat meat, and 2,092 kg of various vegetables. The total estimated value is more than 6.4 billion VND.

In recent years, Dong Van district has maintained the production of many typical agricultural products for tourism. The district has also promoted the application of science, technology and engineering in the stages of seed production as well as product processing.

In particular, the district promotes the development of agricultural products that meet organic standards, builds OCOP products; attaches product traceability stamps. Thereby creating products with quality, beautiful designs, suitable for consumer tastes.

There have been many typical products, highly appreciated by customers such as: Products from buckwheat seeds, mint honey, yellow beef, local black chicken, local black pig, fermented bean curd, and stone cake.

In 2025, the district directed specialized departments to coordinate with the district Tourism Association to develop 13 new agricultural products such as: Canned braised pork; canned stewed pig's feet; dried radish, cellophane noodles, stone cake, dried beef, wilted beef, beef ham, stewed chicken, and salted pork leg.

People in Lung Cam village, Sung La commune, Dong Van district grow vegetables and beans to supply restaurants and hotels in the district.

According to Mr. Pham Duc Nam, Vice Chairman of Dong Van District People's Committee, some agricultural products have been and are bringing high value, contributing effectively to tourism activities in the area. However, the products are still mainly spontaneously developed, fragmented, simple in form, not attractive and not meeting the increasing demands of consumers and tourists.

Therefore, the district will have solutions and mechanisms to encourage businesses and cooperatives to participate in investing in agricultural product processing to increase value. At the same time, it is necessary to clearly define the development of products that must ensure safety, have brands, labels and have stores to introduce products, avoid counterfeit and fake products so that tourists can feel secure when choosing.
