Project 939 helps women innovate and start businesses effectively

With the implementation of many creative methods, in recent years, the Provincial Women's Union has realized Project 939 "Supporting women to start a business in the period of 2017-2025", actively supporting women to develop the economy associated with creativity and start-ups. Thanks to that, many members and women with ideas have been supported to start a successful business, develop the economy, and gradually improve the position of women in the family and society.

The Provincial Women's Union organized the Women's Creative Startup Festival to promote typical products of its members and women in the province.

Give creativity a chance...

In order to stimulate women's creativity in production and business, the Provincial Women's Union has concretized the Project, focusing on directing all levels of the Union to develop an effective implementation plan in annual activities, programs and movements. In particular, promoting the implementation of the movement "Women help each other develop family economy ". At the same time, closely following the locality, grasping the thoughts and aspirations of women members, especially members with especially difficult circumstances who have startup ideas to have timely support solutions. Thereby, helping women to be steadfast on the path of starting a business.

The Women's Union of Phu Tho town is considered a typical union in implementing the Project "Supporting women to start a business in the period of 2017-2025". Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Lan - President of the Women's Union of the town said: Every year, the Union directs grassroots Women's Unions to organize conferences to disseminate Project 939 to cadres, members, and women; the Party's policies, the State's laws on start-ups, business development, the role of women in economic development... Thereby, arousing the entrepreneurial spirit, potential, and creativity of women in starting a business and doing business.

After 8 years of implementing Project 939, the Women's Union at all levels of Phu Tho town has organized 235 sessions to disseminate information on start-ups, business development, and introduce products and goods of women starting new businesses to over 7,000 members; 95% of members and women have been informed and raised awareness about jobs and start-ups on the local radio system. At the same time, the Union also coordinated with related units to organize 2 training courses on livestock farming techniques for 60 female members and women with start-up ideas; 10 vocational training courses for 300 students...

In the period of 2017-2025, the Women's Union at all levels in the province organized propaganda on the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws on start-ups and business development for over 92% of full-time union officials at all levels and 82.3% of members and women were propagandized, raising awareness about employment, business development and start-ups; organized 357 training courses, vocational training, knowledge about starting a business... attracting 16,047 members, women, members of cooperatives, cooperative groups, business households, and associated groups/teams in the province; supported 1,752 women to start and develop businesses...

The Women's Union at all levels guided 239 projects/ideas of members to participate at the provincial level and 87 projects/ideas to participate at the central level. Of these, 54 projects won provincial prizes and 9 projects won central prizes. The provincial Women's Union successfully organized 7 "Women's Creativity and Entrepreneurship Festivals"; 1 Highland Market; District Women's Unions organized 8 "Women's Creativity and Entrepreneurship Festivals" to display, introduce and promote typical products of members and women in the province.

Leaders of the Provincial Women's Union awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing Project 939 for the period 2017 - 2025.

Helping women confidently start a business

To help women members start a business, the Women's Union at all levels has actively implemented many support activities such as: Providing capital, knowledge, plants, seeds... through which many women have built effective economic models, bringing in high income. Ms. Dam Thi Hong Thuy, Zone 14, Phu Ho Commune, Phu Tho Town said: Previously, my family only developed a small-scale seedling nursery model, but since the Women's Union of the town created favorable conditions for a loan of 50 million VND from the Women's Economic Development Support Fund, my family has had more funds to expand production scale and increase income. Currently, my family's nursery is more than 4,000m2, nurturing plants such as Taiwan Banyan, Phong Linh, Chay... each year, it brings in over 250 million VND, creating stable jobs for 2 workers who are members and women with an average income of 5 - 7 million VND/month.

The Women's Union at all levels has also stepped up support for cooperatives and cooperative groups to develop production and improve product quality. Recently, the Provincial Women's Union has awarded funding to support the purchase of production tools worth 10 million VND to Phuong Dong Tien Kien Cooperative, Tien Kien Commune, Lam Thao District. The Cooperative was established with 17 members, operating in fields related to green, clean, safe and modern agriculture , aiming to build a model of growing medicinal plants, spices, aromatic plants combined with eco-tourism, sightseeing experiences... The establishment of the Cooperative aims to create favorable conditions in the process of operation, signing contracts for buying and selling products, creating a stable income for participating members.

With the effective implementation of Project 939, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has helped many members and women start successful businesses with many models, cooperatives, and groups/teams that have brought high efficiency such as: Midland forest incense cooperative in Di Nau commune (Tam Nong) creating jobs for 20 workers; Hoang Cuong safe vegetable cooperative (Thanh Ba) with 16 members; Women's group associated with growing high-quality rice with 15 participating households; Hoang Hoa Phu Lam grapefruit cooperative (Doan Hung) with 35 members...

Up to now, the Association has coordinated with relevant sectors to establish 16 cooperatives, 73 cooperative groups, over 250 women's groups/teams for economic development... In addition, the Association at all levels also supports members and women in accessing loans for economic development through the Social Policy Bank with outstanding loans of over VND 1,845 billion for over 35,100 households; the Provincial Poor Women Support Fund with outstanding loans of over VND 47.5 billion for 3,420 borrowers; the TYM Fund with outstanding loans of over VND 143 billion for over 12,300 members to borrow for economic development; the "Support for Women Start-ups" capital source with outstanding loans of over VND 3.6 billion for 122 members and women with start-up projects/ideas.

Comrade Phan Hong Nhung - Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union said: Promoting the results achieved in implementing Project 939, in the coming time, the Women's Union at all levels will continue to promote propaganda to raise awareness of members and women about starting a business, promoting the realization of business ideas; coordinate to organize training courses on business planning, building business ideas/projects, basic knowledge of business administration, connecting to build brands. At the same time, establish new cooperatives and cooperative groups managed by women; support ideas and models of women starting a business, starting a business... thereby, helping women confidently start a business, rise up to become rich legitimately, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
