Bac Giang: Strengthening connections, promoting consumption of lychee and typical products

Superior quality, meeting all market requirements

Opening the conference, comrade Pham Van Thinh informed that Bac Giang is known as a locality with great agricultural potential, proud to be the lychee capital of Vietnam. By 2025, the whole province will have about 29,700 hectares of lychee, accounting for more than 60% of the fruit tree area, with an estimated output of 165,000 tons. Bac Giang lychee is cultivated according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP, organic standards, is protected by trademarks and geographical indications in 8 countries, meeting strict export standards of markets such as China, Japan, the United States, Europe... and is exported to more than 30 countries and territories; highly appreciated by consumers for its superior quality, ensuring food safety. To date, the province has granted growing area codes to nearly 300 areas, with a total area of over 21,000 hectares, along with an increasingly complete and synchronized system of preliminary processing, packaging and logistics.

Along with lychee, Bac Giang currently has hundreds of OCOP products evaluated and classified as 3 stars or higher; 56 products are approved as key, typical, potential agricultural products, meeting strict standards from domestic to international markets.

The province is actively implementing solutions to ensure synchronization from production, preservation, processing to consumption and export of agricultural products in the context of global trade fluctuations.

In order to produce lychees and other agricultural products of the highest quality to meet the requirements of all domestic and international markets, Bac Giang province has persistently implemented the following measures over the years: Technical guidance, control of growing area codes and packaging facilities to ensure quality and food safety according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP, and organic standards, with the highest requirements on safety and quality, meeting the demands of each market, even the most demanding markets.

Promote the application of technology in preservation and processing, prolonging the harvest time so that products reach consumers still fresh and delicious, contributing to increasing value.

Bac Giang province attaches importance to all markets and each market plays an important role. In order to continue to promote existing advantages and promote effective consumption of key agricultural products, typical of the province, Bac Giang requests that central ministries, branches, provinces, cities, business community and international partners continue to pay attention, accompany and support the province in the coming time.

Directing at the conference, comrade Nguyen Duc Hai affirmed that over the past years, Bac Giang has successfully organized conferences to promote lychee consumption, demonstrating the province's thinking and creativity, thereby contributing to increasing the value of agricultural products.

Expanding export markets, focusing on China, Japan, Europe, the United States, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. At the same time, not forgetting the domestic market - where consumption is stable, creating a foundation for long-term production.

For the domestic market, it is necessary to focus on building a synchronous consumption chain, ensuring that in a short time fresh, delicious lychees from Bac Giang will reach consumers...
