Advise the province on collecting household waste fees by volume or weight

On May 27, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 6487/UBND-KTN on the implementation of domestic solid waste management in the province.

In this document, the provincial leaders requested the People's Committees at the district level to strengthen propaganda for people to classify waste at source and strictly implement regulations on waste management and treatment; review and urgently invest in building domestic solid waste transfer stations according to the Domestic Solid Waste Management Project for the period 2021-2025 to meet construction and environmental regulations.

In particular, the Department of Agriculture and Environment urgently consulted the Provincial People's Committee to determine the price of household waste collection, transportation and treatment services in 2025 to serve as a basis for issuing specific regulations on the form and level of fees that households and individuals must pay for waste collection, transportation and treatment based on the mass or volume of classified waste.

Along with that, the Department of Construction inspects and supervises the construction of domestic waste transfer stations; promptly proposes the Provincial People's Committee to speed up the investment, construction and operation of transfer stations. The Department of Finance presides over and urges the implementation of procedures according to regulations for the first waste-to-energy plant project in the province to soon invest, build and put into operation.
