Identified as a locality with potential to develop OCOP products, Nga Son district has so far had 41 OCOP products. Of which, 9 products have achieved 4-star quality. The products have established a firm foothold in the domestic market, some products are exported to European, Japanese, and American markets... To achieve the above results, the district has paid attention to supporting and helping OCOP product producers with synchronous and practical actions and solutions, such as: supporting the design, construction and use of packaging and models suitable to consumer tastes; supporting producers in applying science and technology to production, improving product quality and output; registering product traceability to meet market requirements. Mr. Tran Van Phong, owner of Thanh Lan fermented pork roll production facility - a 3-star OCOP product in Nga Lien commune, said: "From a long-standing production facility, supported by the commune and district, we have completed the production process and packaging design to successfully build a 3-star OCOP product. In addition, the facility is also supported with training in promoting and consuming products on digital platforms and participating in trade promotion fairs, expanding the consumption market for the product."
Starting her business at the age of over 50, Ms. Tran Thi Viet, the owner of Viet Uyen immortal flower products in Trung Thanh commune (Nong Cong), not only encountered difficulties in creating quality products that meet OCOP standards but also encountered difficulties in "output" for the products. However, after a short time of actively promoting the products in both direct forms at consignment stores, distribution agents and on the internet through platforms such as tiktok, zalo, facebook and some e-commerce platforms such as shopee, lazada..., creating videos introducing the production process, making flyers and building product catalogs to increase the authenticity of the products and make it more convenient to introduce to customers and partners... Up to now, Viet Uyen immortal flower products have had quite a strong consumption. Ms. Viet shared: "Participating in the development of OCOP products, I not only received financial support for product development according to the general policy of the province and district, but also received a lot of support from the Thanh Hoa OCOP community in terms of promotion and consumption on digital platforms. Through livestreams shared on tiktok by some OCOP subjects who have successfully built channels, I learned how to "sell digital products". Thanks to that, Viet Uyen immortal flower products have been present in most provinces and cities across the country such as: Hanoi, Nghe An, Da Nang, Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City... and received positive feedback from the market. Currently, each year the facility sells thousands of products to the market, with revenue of 1 - 1.5 billion VND/year, after deducting costs, for a profit of 300 - 400 million VND/year. The facility creates jobs for 7 - 10 female workers with a regular income of 5 - 6 million VND/month".
According to statistics, as of May 2025, Thanh Hoa province has 637 OCOP products with 3 stars or more from 477 production entities; of which, there are 2 OCOP products with 5 stars. The province's OCOP products are diverse and rich in quantity and quality, and are increasingly interested in innovation, perfecting packaging and labels to suit consumer needs. Through support programs and policies of the province and district, many entities have invested in developing products on a commodity scale. In addition, some entities have proactively built advanced quality indicators such as ISO, HACCP, VietGAP... for their products to target higher markets.
Sharing about solutions to support the development of OCOP products, helping products stand firm in the market, Mr. Phan Xuan Hung, Deputy Head of the Planning - Synthesis Department, Head of the OCOP Management Team (Office of the Provincial New Rural Development Program Coordination), said: "As the standing agency implementing the OCOP Program, the Office of the Provincial New Rural Development Program Coordination has had many activities to "support" the province's OCOP products. In addition to supporting subjects to access the province's support mechanism, every year the office also coordinates to organize many training courses to improve promotion skills, introduce and build booths on social networking platforms for production subjects. At the same time, proactively connect and organize campaigns to promote OCOP products, strong products for local production subjects in many provinces and cities across the country. Through each trade promotion, the province's OCOP products are not only displayed and introduced but also have more opportunities to connect with production establishments. export, consume OCOP products and consumers nationwide.
