Abolishing district level, which agency manages the world cultural heritages of Hoi An and My Son?

(Dan Tri) - The world cultural heritage My Son and the ancient town of Hoi An are being managed by Duy Xuyen district and Hoi An city. Quang Nam has a plan to hand over the management of these two heritages from July 1.

Mr. Le Van Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, has just signed and issued a plan to arrange and reorganize public service units when the operation of district-level administrative units ends.

After the end of the district-level administrative unit's operations, My Son temple complex and Hoi An ancient town, two world cultural heritages of Quang Nam province, will also change management agencies.

These two cultural heritages are being managed by the People's Committee of Duy Xuyen district and the Hoi An Cultural Heritage Management and Conservation Center, under the People's Committee of Hoi An city.

According to the arrangement plan, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will receive the Hoi An Cultural Heritage Management and Conservation Center and the My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board to arrange, reorganize and continue to perform tasks related to the management and conservation of cultural heritage.

Quang Nam province has 741 public service units under the district-level People's Committees that are being organized and operating in the area and are subject to reorganization.

For public service units in the construction sector, Quang Nam province has 17 units (District-level Construction Investment Project Management Boards) temporarily transferring the status quo of these 17 units to the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.

After having specific policies and instructions from competent authorities, arrangements will be made according to regulations.

For public service units in the field of land fund development, transfer 7 Land Fund Development Centers under the District People's Committee to the Land Fund Development Center under the Department of Agriculture and Environment, to continue providing services in inter-commune and ward areas.

As for the Land Fund Development Center under the People's Committees of Phu Ninh, Dai Loc, and Nui Thanh districts, it is organized to combine additional tasks of managing industrial clusters, trade, services, etc.

Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee also transferred 8 public service units in the fields of agriculture and environment, including 6 district-level protective forest management boards; 2 units, including Cu Lao Cham Marine Protected Area Management Board (under Hoi An City People's Committee), Elephant Species and Habitat Management Board (under Que Son District People's Committee), to public service units with similar functions and tasks under the Department of Agriculture and Environment.

The Cu Lao Cham bird's nest exploitation management board under the People's Committee of Hoi An city temporarily transferred the status quo to the People's Committee of Tan Hiep commune for management and gradually arranged according to regulations.

For the two Market Management Boards under the People's Committees of Hoi An and Tam Ky cities, the functions and tasks of market management will be transferred to the Public Service Center under the People's Committees at the commune level according to the management area to provide basic and essential public services to the people.

For the Waterway Wharf Management Board (under the People's Committee of Hoi An City), the functions and tasks of managing wharves and yards will be transferred to the People's Committees of communes and wards according to the management area; at the same time, continue to arrange after there are regulations and instructions from competent authorities.

The People's Committee of Quang Nam province assigned departments, branches and localities to develop and complete the project to arrange and reorganize public service units according to their assigned authority and tasks, and send it to the Provincial People's Committee (via the Department of Home Affairs) before June 15. The Department of Home Affairs shall appraise and advise the Provincial People's Committee to carry out the arrangement of public service units according to regulations, and complete it before June 20.
