In MMA, which will officially compete on December 10 and 11, 2025, athletes will compete in 6 categories for men and women, in two formats: traditional MMA and modern MMA.

The Board of Directors of the Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation had a meeting and assigned tasks to the National MMA Team.
This is the first time MMA has been included in the competition program of the Southeast Asian Games . The Vietnam MMA Federation has prepared to build a training program, select forces for the first appearance at a major Games and the funding for the athletes to compete in Thailand is from socialized sources.
The Vietnamese MMA team is expected to have 06 players, including: Pham Van Nam (men's traditional 56kg), Tran Ngoc Luong (men's modern MMA 60kg), Quang Van Minh (men's modern MMA 65kg), Nguyen Vu Quynh Hoa (women's modern MMA 60kg), Duong Thi Thanh Binh (women's modern MMA 54kg) and Le Ngoc Thu (women's traditional MMA 54kg).
According to the team's report, up to this point, all preparations of the Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts team are entering the final stages and are ready to compete at the SEA Games with confidence and to give their all at the Games.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Mai Thanh Ba - General Secretary of the Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation, and Head Coach of the team, officially took over the task from the Federation, and affirmed his determination to organize serious training, aiming to win at least one gold medal in his first participation. The 33rd SEA Games marked a historic milestone when Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) was included in the official competition program of an international sports event for the first time.
According to the general regulations of the Vietnamese sports delegation, the team will leave for the SEA Games on December 8 and return home on December 12, 2025.
