On October 23, Coach Vu Hong Viet proactively resigned from the position of Head Coach of Nam Dinh Club. If this becomes true, it will be a pity for the relationship between Coach Vu Hong Viet and Nam Dinh Club.

However, the leadership of the Southern team wants Mr. Viet to lead the team for one more match before parting ways. The Southern team will decide to terminate the contract with Mr. Viet today (October 24).

This move comes as the team from the South is "sinking into a crisis" of form. Recently, Nam Dinh Club has not been playing really smoothly. The 1-3 defeat to Gamba Osaka, in the third round of the AFC Champions League Two 2025/2026 group stage, caused Nam Dinh Club to go through a series of only 4 wins, 1 draw and 5 losses.

This result is a big disappointment for the defending champion. Despite having a quality foreign squad, Nam Dinh FC still performed poorly. The imbalance between potential and performance was the direct reason why coach Vu Hong Viet decided to leave.

Coach Vu Hong Viet was born in 1979, he has led U16 - U19 Vietnam, Quang Nam Club and is an assistant to the Vietnam national team. Mr. Viet has led Nam Dinh Club since 2022, helping the team win two consecutive V-League championships in the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 seasons.
