250 athletes compete in Hue City Karate and Taekwondo Tournament

VHO - On October 24, at the gymnasium of the Faculty of Physical Education - Hue University, 250 athletes from units in Hue City participated in the Karate and Taekwondo competitions within the framework of the City Sports Festival.

The Organizing Committee presented a souvenir flag to the tournament's referee team.

These are two highly anticipated competitions in the exciting series of activities of the 10th Hue City Sports Festival in 2025 - 2026.

The tournament had the participation of 108 Karate athletes from 11 communes, wards and universities. Taekwondo had 142 athletes from 15 units competing.

According to the Organizing Committee, the 10th Hue City Sports Festival will have 18 competitions, including: football, chess, Karate, Taekwondo, swimming, athletics, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, cross-country, traditional wrestling, boat racing, crossbow shooting, Chinese chess, Vovinam, billiards, shuttlecock kicking, and petanque.

To date, four sports have been organized: petanque, boat racing, karate and taekwondo. The remaining sports will be held until the end of May 2026.

The Karate and Taekwondo tournaments within the framework of the 10th Hue City Sports Festival are not only a useful sports playground but also contribute to spreading the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".

Mr. Bui Thanh Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hue City, said that the tournament aims to evaluate the training of athletes in localities and units and select and focus on training athletes for the Hue City team to participate in the National Sports Festival at the end of 2026.
