250 athletes compete in Hue City Karate and Taekwondo Tournament

VHO - On October 24, at the gymnasium of the Faculty of Physical Education - Hue University, 250 athletes from units in Hue City participated in the Karate and Taekwondo competitions within the framework of the City Sports Festival.

The Organizing Committee presented a commemorative flag to the tournament's referee team.

These are two highly anticipated competitive events in the exciting series of activities of the 10th Hue City Sports Festival in 2025-2026.

The tournament featured 108 Karate athletes from 11 communes, wards, and universities. Taekwondo had 142 athletes from 15 participating units.

According to the Organizing Committee, the 10th Hue City Sports Festival will feature 18 competitive events, including: football, chess, Karate, Taekwondo, swimming, athletics, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, cross-country running, traditional wrestling, boat racing, archery, Chinese chess, Vovinam, billiards, sepak takraw, and petanque.

To date, four sports have been contested: pétanque, rowing, karate, and taekwondo. The remaining sports will be contested until the end of May 2026.

The Karate and Taekwondo competitions within the framework of the 10th Hue City Sports Festival are not only beneficial sporting events but also contribute to spreading the movement of "All citizens practicing physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh".

According to Mr. Bui Thanh Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City, the tournament aims to evaluate the training of athletes in localities and units, and to select and train athletes for the Hue City team to participate in the National Sports Games at the end of 2026.
