That is the comment of Mr. Saadi Salama, Ambassador of Palestine to Vietnam - Head of the Diplomatic Mission in Vietnam on the significance of the Convention on Combating Cybercrime being opened for signing in Hanoi on October 25 and 26, 2025.
According to Ambassador Saadi Salama, the “Hanoi Convention” – the first global treaty named after the capital city of Vietnam – marks an important milestone for Vietnam on the international cooperation map. At the same time, this event affirms that Vietnam is a responsible member of the United Nations, always proactively promoting international cooperation for a world of peace , stability and sustainable development, in which cybersecurity is the foundation of trust and cooperation between countries.
Emphasizing that Vietnam has shown a proactive, positive and responsible role in the negotiation process to build the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, Ambassador Saadi Salama said that Vietnam contributed many conciliatory ideas, helping to narrow differences between countries and promote international consensus towards a global legal framework that both ensures effective combat against cybercrime and respects sovereignty and human rights.
The United Nations' choice of Hanoi as the place to sign the Convention on Combating Cybercrime is a clear recognition of Vietnam's role, prestige and constructive contributions to peace, security and sustainable development in the digital age.
Ambassador Saadi Salama hopes that Vietnam, specifically the capital Hanoi, successfully organizing the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime will become an important milestone affirming the international position and prestige of Vietnam - a proactive, responsible and trustworthy country in multilateral cooperation.

The Ambassador expressed his pride that the State of Palestine will be one of the first countries to sign the Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi on October 25, 2025. The Ambassador sent his warm congratulations to Vietnam for its great contributions in promoting dialogue and international cooperation towards a world of peace, security and sustainable development.
