Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son received Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski

On the afternoon of October 24, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs of the Republic of Poland Krzysztof Gawkowski on the occasion of his visit to Vietnam to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime ( Hanoi Convention), taking place in Hanoi from October 25-26.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated and thanked Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski and the Polish high-ranking delegation for coming to Vietnam to attend the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention, contributing to the success of the signing ceremony of the Convention and the joint efforts of the United Nations and member states in building a new legal framework to regulate the field of cybercrime prevention and control.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that Vietnam and Poland have a traditional friendship and excellent cooperation. This year, the two countries celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1950-2025), an important milestone in the bilateral relationship; affirming that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to strengthen multifaceted cooperation with Poland, one of Vietnam's top priority partners in Central and Eastern Europe.

Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski highly appreciated Vietnam's organization of the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, thereby affirming Vietnam's strong commitment to participating in solving global issues.

Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski emphasized that Vietnam is an important partner of Poland in Southeast Asia, wishing to further promote cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

Discussing bilateral relations, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed satisfaction with the positive developments in the bilateral relationship in recent times; suggested that the two sides continue to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones, as well as between ministries, branches and localities of the two countries to enhance political trust and mutual understanding, creating a foundation to promote and expand bilateral cooperation in all fields.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son appreciated the fact that Poland has been Vietnam's largest trade partner in Central and Eastern Europe for many years; he suggested that the two sides further promote trade and investment cooperation by actively implementing the bilateral economic cooperation consultation mechanism as well as the Working Group to promote agricultural cooperation.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son thanked the Polish House of Representatives for recently passing the Bill ratifying the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and affirmed that the EVIPA will contribute to strongly promoting trade and investment between the two countries.

The two sides also discussed a number of measures to promote cooperation in the fields of development cooperation, agriculture, education-training, culture-tourism and people-to-people exchange; continued close coordination at multilateral forums as well as mutual support for candidacy to international organizations of the United Nations.

Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski said that Poland has strengths and has achieved many achievements in the fields of digital transformation, cyber security, digital economy and is ready to cooperate with Vietnam in exchanging information and sharing experiences, especially in building a legal framework, training human resources, and ensuring national cyber security.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son thanked and asked Polish authorities at all levels to continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Poland to live stably and integrate well into the locality, promoting their role as a bridge for cooperation between the two countries./.
