Dak Lak: 2 teenagers were swept away by waves while swimming in the sea

On the evening of October 24, Mr. Nguyen Hai Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Tho Commune (Dak Lak Province) said that the authorities had recovered the body of one of the two teenagers who was swept away by waves while swimming in the sea in Xuan Dai Ward (Dak Lak Province).

According to initial information, at around 5 p.m. the same day, a group of 5 teenagers invited each other to go swimming in the sea area of ​​Xuan Dai ward. While swimming, a big wave suddenly came and swept two children, NHT and NHĐ. (both 17 years old, living in Xuan Tho commune) far from shore. The friends tried to call for help but it was too late.

Upon receiving the news, Xuan Dai Border Guard Station mobilized more than 50 people from the Border Guard, Police, local militia and the support of local people to search along the coast and the area where the boats were anchored. However, big waves and strong winds made the rescue work difficult.

At around 8pm the same day, the authorities recovered the body of NHĐ. The rescue team is continuing to search for the remaining victim.
