Dak Lak: 2 teenagers were swept away by waves while swimming in the sea

On the evening of October 24, Mr. Nguyen Hai Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Tho Commune (Dak Lak Province) said that the authorities had recovered the body of one of the two teenagers who was swept away by waves while swimming in the sea in Xuan Dai Ward (Dak Lak Province).

According to initial information, at around 5 PM on the same day, a group of five teenagers went to the beach area in Xuan Dai ward to swim. While swimming, large waves suddenly swept away two of them, NHT and NHD (both 17 years old, residing in Xuan Tho commune), far from the shore. Their friends tried to call for help but it was too late.

Upon receiving the report, the Xuan Dai Border Guard Station mobilized more than 50 people from the Border Guard, Police, and local militia, along with the support of local residents, to organize a search along the coastline and in the area where boats were anchored. However, high waves and strong winds made rescue efforts very difficult.

Around 8 PM that same day, authorities recovered the body of NHĐ. The rescue team is continuing its efforts to find the remaining victim.
