Tropical depression weakens, heavy rain from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai

Last night, October 23, the tropical depression in the East Sea weakened into a low pressure area in the eastern sea of the northern East Sea.

At 1:00 a.m. this morning, the center of the low pressure area was at about 17.4 degrees north latitude and 117.5 degrees east longitude. The strongest wind in the center of the low pressure area decreased to below level 6, below 39 km/h. In the next 12 hours, the low pressure area is forecast to move southwest, weaken and gradually dissipate.

Due to the influence of the weakened low pressure circulation, combined with the strengthening cold air, today in the East Sea there will be strong winds and complicated thunderstorms.

Weather forecast from early morning October 24 to night October 25, the area from southern Quang Tri to Quang Ngai and eastern Gia Lai will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall of 100 - 250 mm, some places will have very heavy rain over 450 mm. Heavy rain will be concentrated in coastal areas, with the risk of heavy rain with rainfall over 150 mm/3 hours.

Today and tonight, from Nghe An to northern Quang Tri, eastern Dak Lak province to Lam Dong and the South, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 15 - 40 mm, in some places heavy to very heavy rain over 100 mm, possibly accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, and hail.

During the day and night of October 26, from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai, there will be 50-100 mm of rain, with some places experiencing very heavy rain of over 200 mm. Heavy rain in Quang Tri is likely to last until the end of October.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that heavy rain after storm No. 12 in the central provinces is forecast to last for many days and develop in a complicated manner.
