Release two endangered and rare monkeys into the natural environment

On October 23, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Huong Hiep Commune, Quang Tri Province, said that he had received from the people and coordinated with relevant authorities to release two monkeys belonging to the endangered and rare group back into the natural environment.

Specifically, on October 22, the People's Committee of Huong Hiep Commune received a report from Mr. Le Van Trung, Khe Ha Village, Huong Hiep Commune, about discovering two monkeys straying into his garden. Mr. Trung captured the two monkeys and immediately reported to the authorities.

Immediately after receiving the information, the People's Committee of Huong Hiep commune directed the Huong Hiep commune police, the Economic Department to coordinate with the Dakrong Forest Protection Department to conduct an inspection and verification. The result was that these were two monkeys belonging to the endangered and rare group IIB, including: 1 red-faced monkey (Macaca arctoides) weighing 4.6 kg and 1 pig-tailed monkey (Macaca leonina) weighing 3.5 kg.

After receiving them from the people, the authorities carried out relevant procedures and released these two rare monkeys back into the natural environment.
