Bac Giang: Rewarding 84 collectives and individuals with many contributions in organizing the procession and enshrining of Buddha's relics

Comrade Mai Son, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee; Most Venerable Thich Duc Thien, Vice Chairman, General Secretary of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha chaired the conference. Also attending were members of the Steering Committee.

Authorized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Comrade Mai Son awarded Certificates of Merit to the collectives.

The procession and enshrinement of Buddha's relics at Phuc Son Pagoda was held from May 23 to 25. According to the Steering Committee, the event was a great success, solemn, safe, attracting about 1.6 million visitors.

Thereby, it not only meets the aspirations of the majority of Buddhists and people but also has profound significance in affirming the cultural - spiritual and humanistic values of Vietnamese Buddhism through the flow of history and the present. At the same time, it has a practical effect of promoting and introducing the image of the land and people of Bac Giang .

To support the event, relevant provincial agencies closely coordinated with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Tan Yen district to provide support, ensuring the event took place solemnly, absolutely safely and in accordance with rituals.

Authorized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Comrade Mai Son awarded Certificates of Merit to individuals.

The provincial police mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers to closely coordinate with relevant agencies and localities to ensure security and order, traffic safety, fire prevention and fighting; the medical force stepped up propaganda, ensured food hygiene and safety, promptly received and handled dozens of cases of health problems. Propaganda work, ensuring electricity, water, and environmental sanitation were given careful attention...

Speaking at the conference, comrade Mai Son acknowledged and commended the sense of responsibility, the smooth and synchronous coordination of all levels, sectors, localities, the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Bac Giang province, especially the collectives and individuals who were awarded at the conference.

He emphasized that the success of the event not only affirmed the Party and State's attention to religious activities, but also demonstrated the tradition of solidarity and connection between religion and life, between the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the government, contributing to creating the strength of great national unity.

Although the event took place quite urgently and in a short time, the forces proactively developed a plan, assigned specific tasks; ensured good security and order, traffic safety, fire prevention and fighting, environmental sanitation, medical work, logistics, communications and service plans.

Comrade Mai Son thanked the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha for their attention and creating conditions for the Buddha's relics to be brought to Phuc Son Pagoda, in accordance with the wishes of many Buddhists and local people. He said that the leaders of Bac Giang province will continue to accompany and provide maximum support so that Buddhist activities can be organized safely and solemnly, contributing to spreading the good humanistic values of Buddhism in social life.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 29 groups and 22 individuals; the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha awarded Certificates of Merit to 33 individuals who contributed to the successful organization of the procession and enshrinement of Buddha's relics at Phuc Son Pagoda.
