"Installing trash bins" model of Thuan An Ward Youth Union.

The "Installing trash bins" model has been implemented by the Thuan An Ward Youth Union since 2020. Every year, the Ward Youth Union mobilizes and installs 15-20 trash bins on the streets; mobilizes people to put trash in the right place, not to throw trash into rivers and canals. The model has contributed to helping people in the areas raise awareness of environmental protection and build civilized urban areas (CLU). At the same time, the Ward Youth Union coordinates to organize the program "Exchanging trash for gifts", "Peak day of volunteering to build CLU", "Green Sunday"... Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Secretary of the Thuan An Ward Youth Union, said: "We regularly clean up the environment at illegal waste collection points; mobilize people to classify waste at the source. Environmental protection propaganda activities are also organized by the Ward Youth Union in many diverse forms, attracting a large number of young union members and students to participate".

The Youth Union chapters of Thot Not district have implemented the "Youth Volunteer" movement with a focus, key and synchronous manner. In particular, the units have organized many volunteer activities to participate in building the rural areas; mobilized young union members and people to actively respond to the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and rural areas" launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front... From 2022 to now, the Youth Union chapters in the district have carried out 29 district-level youth projects, 67 grassroots youth projects and 201 branch-level tasks, such as building bridges and roads; planting trees and flowers; supporting young union members and students in difficult circumstances to build houses... The units are interested in volunteer activities to protect the environment and respond to climate change through coordinating with sectors and organizations to organize "Volunteer Saturday", "Green Sunday", activities in response to World Environment Day (June 5); Organize folk dance competitions, design and perform costumes recycled from waste to convey the message of environmental protection...

According to Ms. Le Thi Cam Huynh, Secretary of Thot Not District Youth Union, the District Youth Union and its affiliated units pay attention to and effectively implement programs to accompany young people. In particular, the Youth Union of schools effectively maintains the models of "Friends progressing together", "Good lessons", "Receiving help for students in studying"; promotes activities to support and encourage young people to compete in studying; develops academic clubs in schools... The District Youth Union coordinates with the District Military Command, District Police, and Can Tho Youth Employment Service Center to organize admission counseling at junior high and high schools in the area to guide students to choose careers that match their interests, abilities, strengths, and passions.

In addition, the Youth Union at all levels in the district effectively implemented the program to support young union members in vocational training and job creation; organized exchange programs to share start-up experiences, mobilize resources to support start-up ideas of young union members; supported young union members to establish and maintain 6 economic models; supported young union members to borrow capital from the Social Policy Bank with a total outstanding loan of 7 billion VND for economic development... The District Youth Union coordinated with consulting units to introduce jobs for demobilized soldiers; organized a job fair combined with career consulting and job introduction; implemented the youth project "Job information board" at the headquarters of the ward People's Committees.

In the period of 2022-2025, the Standing Committee of the District Youth Union directed its affiliated units to improve the effectiveness of the work of taking charge of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team and protecting, caring for, and educating teenagers and children. In particular, the units synchronously, comprehensively, and effectively implemented the Campaign "For beloved juniors", the movements "Vietnamese children compete to follow Uncle Ho's 5 teachings", "Thousands of good deeds", "Small plans"... The units mobilized and presented 860 gifts to children. Through organizing many activities to educate about traditions, ethics, and lifestyles, the district's youth contributed to orienting values, forming good personalities, and awareness of law compliance for teenagers and children.
