Vice President of the Motion Picture Association of America Trevor Fernandes said that the association represents leading companies in internet content distribution and digital technology in the United States, and is ready to share issues related to distributing products on the internet and new media in Vietnam.
Expressing his excitement about Vietnam's recent strong reforms, including changes in the Government 's organizational structure, the Vice President of the Motion Picture Association of America said that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's expansion of functions, tasks and the fields of cinema, press and media under one Ministry will create favorable conditions for management as well as cooperation.
Mr. Trevor Fernandes also appreciated the fact that recently, Vietnam has had many studios and young content producers, creating quality products and films that have resonated not only domestically but also internationally .

At the meeting, Vice President of the Motion Picture Association of America Trevor Fernandes made a number of proposals and recommendations for changes related to Vietnam's legal regulations to have more open policies to help foreign businesses bring their audiovisual products to Vietnam as well as Vietnamese businesses promote bringing their products abroad.
Mr. Trevor Fernandes also proposed establishing a joint working group between the Motion Picture Association of America and relevant units of Vietnam to regularly exchange and share related work between the two sides.
Regarding copyright, the Motion Picture Association of America congratulates and highly appreciates the positive signals in handling copyright infringement in Vietnam in recent times and considers this a big step forward in promoting content creation in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh said that recently, Vietnam has had positive changes in organizational structure as well as new policies.
The leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam are consistent in their viewpoint of promoting institutional improvement to further promote development. In particular, even for newly issued regulations, if they are not suitable and limit development, they are ready to change.
On the part of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry always tries to create the most open mechanism for businesses to promote creativity and create conditions for business development.

Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh said that the current legal framework in the film industry in Vietnam is very open, creating favorable conditions for content producers. However, there is still a small amount of content that is not suitable for the conditions and culture of Vietnam, so some content still needs to be strictly managed.
However, with the resolute viewpoint of "abandoning the mindset of if you can't manage, then ban" of the leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State, Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh said that the functional agencies of Vietnam are ready to work with the US side to study and research to find a solution that is beneficial to all parties, how to ensure management work but still create a clear corridor for development.
Vice President of the Motion Picture Association of America Trevor Fernandes said that the MPA shares the concerns of managers about inappropriate content being released on the internet. This is not a problem of Vietnam alone but a problem of most other countries in the world.
Depending on the conditions, circumstances, and culture of each country, there are contents that those countries do not want to publish on cyberspace. Therefore, the problem is to find a solution to minimize the appearance of inappropriate content while still ensuring a clear corridor.
Mr. Trevor Fernandes proposed signing a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Motion Picture Association of America to specify the cooperation contents achieved in the past as well as create a foundation to further promote cooperation in the future.
