On the afternoon of May 28 , comrade Duong Xuan Huyen, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Lang Son Provincial Press Awards Council chaired a meeting to prepare for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

At the meeting, delegates exchanged, discussed and gave opinions on a number of contents, programs and results of preparations for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day; commended and honored outstanding journalists and awarded the 5th Lang Son Provincial Press Award in 2025. At the same time, they focused on evaluating the results achieved after 5 years of organizing the Lang Son Provincial Press Award.

Leaders of the Provincial Association of Literature, Arts and Journalists spoke at the meeting.

Accordingly, after 5 years of organization, the quality of entries to the Lang Son Provincial Press Award has been increasingly improved, the authors have exploited current topics and major issues arising in the development process of the province. The award has created a large playground for journalists inside and outside the province, contributing to discovering and nurturing authors to become key reporters and journalists for press agencies. Many authors and works have won many high prizes at the Central-level press awards.

At the meeting, delegates hoped that the province would continue to pay attention to and organize the annual Lang Son Provincial Press Awards well. Consider increasing the value of the awards to suit the actual situation, with special awards and awards for groups in the award structure.

Regarding the results of the judging of entries for the 5th Lang Son Provincial Press Awards 2025. The Organizing Committee received 101 entries from authors, groups of authors from press agencies, and press and media collaborators. Through the preliminary and final rounds, the Council of the 5th Lang Son Provincial Press Awards 2025 selected 50 entries in 5 types of journalism, and submitted them to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision.

Comrade Duong Xuan Huyen, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Lang Son Provincial Press Awards Council delivered a concluding speech at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the efforts of the standing agency and members of the Provincial Press Award Council in preparing to organize the ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. At the same time, he highly appreciated the authors and the quality of the works participating in this year's Press Award when exploiting and reflecting truthfully and comprehensively all areas of life and society.

Regarding the organization of the anniversary, the comrade set the date for June 18. There is not much time left, so he requested press and media agencies to continue promoting propaganda work, highlighting the glorious 100-year tradition of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press, the role, mission, and important and great contributions of the press to the development of the province.

The member agencies of the Provincial Press Awards Council continue to carefully prepare the assigned contents and tasks to ensure a solemn, practical, meaningful celebration worthy of the glorious tradition of 100 years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee agreed to continue advising competent authorities to organize the Lang Son Provincial Press Awards; requested the Provincial Literature, Arts and Journalists Association to urgently advise on the development of a Project to organize the Lang Son Provincial Press Awards for the period 2025-2030, and promptly advise on the development of related policies.
