Latest data from the General Department of Customs shows that Vietnam's rubber exports in April 2025 reached 71,866 tons, worth 139.5 million USD.

Compared to March, export volume decreased by 33% and value decreased by 35%. However, compared to the same period last year, export volume decreased by only 2.4%, while value increased sharply by 18.6%.

In the first four months of 2025, Vietnam exported a total of 452,504 tons of rubber, reaching a turnover of 872.78 million USD. Although the volume decreased by 7.2%, the turnover increased by 20.4%.

This growth in value is largely due to the fact that international rubber prices have been anchored at high levels in recent times.

Rubber price today June 4: Rubber futures prices maintain upward trend

In the world market, the online trading session on the morning of May 27 recorded different developments between exchanges.

On the SGX – Singapore, rubber prices fell sharply. The June 2025 contract fell 1.90 cents to 167.60 cents/kg. The July, August, and September 2025 contracts all fell 1.50 cents to 168.50 cents/kg, 168.40 cents/kg, and 168.60 cents/kg, respectively.

Globally, the tire industry, which is the main driver of rubber demand, is showing dynamism. Many large corporations are actively expanding their production scale to meet market demand.

In China, Zhongce Rubber – the country’s largest tire maker – listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on May 23, issuing 87.45 million shares to raise 4.85 billion yuan (equivalent to about 596 million euros), funding five major projects in China and Thailand.

At the same time, Apollo Tyres Ltd (India) announced plans to invest INR 15 billion (about 157 million euros) in fiscal year 2026 to increase capacity at its factories in Hungary and India. In Europe alone, production capacity will increase by 4,000 tires/day.

In Cambodia, the Council for the Development of the Country announced two key investment projects in the industry, including a $242 million tire factory in Preah Sihanouk province and a $93 million tire production expansion plan in Svay Rieng province.

In addition, the Arlanxeo – TSRC joint venture inaugurated a nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) factory in Nantong, Jiangsu Province (China), increasing capacity from 30,000 to 40,000 tons/year, providing strategic raw materials for the technical rubber industry.

Global tire production expansions provide a foundation to support long-term demand for natural and synthetic rubber.
