World rubber price today April 29: Japan increased sharply by 2.4%
Rubber prices in Japan increased sharply in the trading session on April 28. Specifically, the April contract on the Osaka Exchange increased by 2.4%, equivalent to 6.8 yen, to 290.6 yen/kg. Meanwhile, in China, rubber futures for May decreased slightly by 0.1% to 14,590 yuan/ton. In Thailand, prices increased slightly to 73.7 baht/kg.
Investors are more optimistic thanks to positive signals from US-China trade relations and expectations that China will recover strongly thanks to economic stimulus packages.
Chinese tire giant Jinyu Tire Group has completed construction of a passenger car tire factory in Tay Ninh Province, Vietnam. The project is an expansion of its existing plant, which produces 2 million truck and bus tires per year.
The new plant has a capacity of 10 million passenger car tires (PCR) per year and is expected to be fully operational from the second half of 2026. With this project, Jinyu has a total production capacity of 10 million TBR tires and 10 million PCR tires per year.
The factory is invested with modern technology with smart management systems such as MES, RDM, LIMS, along with technical research and testing centers, helping to improve productivity and strictly control quality. This is considered a milestone marking Jinyu's return after 5 years of withdrawal from the passenger car tire market.
Domestic rubber price on April 29 is stable
In the domestic market, rubber prices at many enterprises remain stable. Phu Rieng Rubber Company currently purchases mixed latex at 400 VND/DRC and liquid latex at 440 VND/TSC.
Ba Ria Rubber Company listed the price of liquid latex from 462 VND/TSC degree/kg (for TSC degree from 25 to under 30), coagulated latex fluctuates from 13,600 VND/kg, and raw latex is purchased at a price from 16,900 to 18,200 VND/kg.
Mang Yang Rubber Company purchases grade 1 and grade 2 latex at a price of 415 - 420 VND/TSC, while grade 1 and 2 mixed latex ranges from 378 - 430 VND/DRC. This price is applied from April 15, 2025.
