Chelsea's deal with the Saudi Arabian club is worth £43.7m. The deal takes the total amount spent by clubs on Felix since he left Benfica to £195m. According to Transfermarkt, Felix has risen to fourth place in the list of players with the highest total transfer fees of all time,
Felix is behind only Neymar (£346m), Romelu Lukaku (£320m) and Cristiano Ronaldo (£214m). Notably, he has surpassed superstars such as Kylian Mbappe, Gareth Bale and Antoine Griezmann - players who have held records for value in major transfer windows.
Felix was bought by Atletico Madrid from Benfica for £114 million in 2019, and was expected to become a new symbol of European football. However, the player born in 1999 never really exploded. After that, he played for Chelsea, Barcelona and AC Milan but was not very prominent, before choosing to join Al Nassr.
Felix’s career is still full of question marks, but if you look at his transfer value, he is clearly one of the most “expensive” names in the modern football era. Unfortunately, Felix has never reached the star level as expected.
