In the North, pig prices did not record any new fluctuations compared to the previous day.
Specifically, the price of pigs in the provinces of Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi and Tuyen Quang continues to be purchased at 69,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam and Ninh Binh still maintain the price at 68,000 VND/kg.
Currently, the price of live pigs in the North continues to remain stable at around 68,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

Pig price today in the Central Highlands continues to move sideways
The pig market in the Central Highlands region also has no new adjustments.
Specifically, the price of 69,000 VND/kg is still maintained in the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Khanh Hoa.
Pig prices in localities such as Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue are purchased by traders at a lower level of 68,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak is currently purchasing live pigs at 70,000 VND/kg, Ninh Thuan is still at 72,000 VND/kg.
The two localities with the highest prices in the region are Lam Dong and Binh Thuan, both reaching 73,000 VND/kg.

Pig price today in the South adjusted down
In the Southern region, the price of live pigs tends to decrease in some localities compared to the previous session, currently the purchase price fluctuates between 70,000 - 74,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, the price of pigs in Dong Thap decreased by VND1,000/kg to VND71,000/kg; in Kien Giang, Bac Lieu and Tra Vinh, it also decreased by VND1,000/kg, currently being purchased at VND72,000/kg.
Ben Tre alone recorded the sharpest decrease, down 2,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day, down to 70,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, many localities still maintain high prices such as Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Ca Mau all reaching 74,000 VND/kg; Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Hau Giang, Tien Giang and Soc Trang are stable at 73,000 VND/kg. Long An and An Giang are currently trading around 72,000 VND/kg.

In general, the price of live pigs today (June 17) continued to move sideways in the North and the Central Highlands. Meanwhile, the price of pigs in the South tended to decrease slightly, in which Ben Tre decreased the most with 2,000 VND/kg. Currently, the highest price nationwide still belongs to Ca Mau, Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau with 74,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak successfully controls African swine fever
According to the Agriculture and Environment newspaper , the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Dak Lak province said that since the beginning of 2025, the animal husbandry situation in the province has been maintained relatively stable. Currently, the total herd of buffaloes and cows in the province has reached 290,800 heads; the herd of pigs is 1,150,000 heads; the herd of goats is 133,000 heads and the herd of poultry is 17,200,000 heads.
Regarding animal disease, since the beginning of the year, rabies and African swine fever have appeared in the province but have been controlled. Regarding rabies, since the beginning of the year, Dak Lak province has detected and recorded 7 dogs with rabies in the districts of Cu Kuin, Cu M'gar, Krong Nang, Lak, and Buon Ma Thuot City. The total number of dogs that died and were destroyed due to rabies or suspected rabies is 11.
According to the Dak Lak Provincial Center for Disease Control, since the beginning of the year, the province has recorded 2 human deaths due to rabies (including 1 case in Ea Pil commune, M'Drak district and 1 case in Bang Adrenh commune, Krong Ana district).
In order to implement measures to prevent and control rabies, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Dak Lak province requested localities to strictly implement Directive No. 05/CT-UBND dated March 5, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on strictly implementing urgent measures to prevent and control rabies in animals, and to strengthen rabies vaccination of dogs and cats to reach a minimum rate of 80% of the total herd.
Regarding African swine fever, since the beginning of the year, in Dak Lak province, the disease has occurred in 5 households in 3 villages of Cu M'gar district and Buon Ma Thuot city, killing and destroying 56 pigs with a total destroyed weight of 3,725 kg. In May, the disease did not occur in the province.
