Pig price today
The Northern market continues to be the highest price support point in the country. On June 28, the whole region recorded no price decrease, the common price ranged from 68,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.
Localities such as Hanoi , Hung Yen, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Thai Binh and Thai Nguyen maintained at 69,000 VND/kg.
Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Lao Cai and Yen Bai traded at VND68,000/kg. Although prices did not increase, consumption at wholesale markets such as Hanoi and Hung Yen showed signs of a slight recovery thanks to the summer tourist season and festivals at the end of the month.
In the Central and Central Highlands regions, the live hog market today recorded no price fluctuations. Binh Dinh is still the locality with the lowest price in the region, at 67,000 VND/kg.
Provinces such as Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh maintained at 68,000 VND/kg. Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan traded around 71,000 - 72,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak alone kept the price at 6,8,000 VND/kg, many small farms temporarily stopped selling, expecting the price to recover early next month.
In the Southern region, the second consecutive decrease was recorded with a common adjustment of 1,000 VND/kg. Ben Tre recorded the lowest price in the region, only 69,000 VND/kg.
Hau Giang and Kien Giang slightly decreased to 70,000 VND/kg. Ba Ria - Vung Tau adjusted to 72,000 VND/kg, lower than yesterday.
Meanwhile, Soc Trang kept the price at 71,000 VND/kg, no fluctuations recorded.
Some localities with large livestock farming scale such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh still maintain the level of 71,000 VND/kg but purchasing power continues to be low because domestic demand has not clearly recovered after the Doan Ngo Festival.
The overall market picture shows that the downward trend is still dominant, especially in the South. The fact that large farms continue to maintain a stable output of pigs for sale while consumption is weak makes it difficult for prices to increase. The North and the Central Highlands are holding prices but also lack a stronger push due to the lack of clear signals from the market.
Currently, the price of live pigs nationwide fluctuates between 67,000 and 73,000 VND/kg. If domestic purchasing power does not improve significantly in early July, it is likely that the price of live pigs will continue to fluctuate around the current price range, even decreasing slightly in places with large inventories.
