According to Mr. Pham Kim Dang, Deputy Director of the Department of Animal Husbandry, from 22 localities affected by storm No. 3 and its aftermath as of September 23, 25,011 livestock and 3,179,300 poultry were damaged. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has called on organizations and businesses to donate about VND90 billion to the livestock industry.

Currently, localities are making efforts to restore their herds to prepare for consumption needs during the holidays and Tet. Although the domestic pig herd has suffered heavy losses due to natural disasters and epidemics, due to the surplus supply from neighboring countries and the large price difference compared to Vietnam, domestic pig prices are forecast to be difficult to increase dramatically.
