* According to the report of the Russian Federal Export Promotion Center Agroexport, in 2022, the costs of logistics and payment procedures for exporters increased due to the political and macroeconomic situation in the world. This affected the export of most products, including pork, to foreign markets.
However, thanks to the active work of exporting companies and government support, in the second half of 2022, Russian pork exports to Southeast Asian countries have partially or completely recovered, said Nikolai Birulin, a leading expert in market analysis and forecasting at the National Pig Breeding Union.
In the first 6 months of 2023, exports of Russian pork products to Vietnam increased by 95% compared to the same period last year.
Birulin also noted that demand for all pork products, not just meat, has increased. Offal supplies have increased by 92% and pork by 95%.
“If we talk about pork exports in general, last year the decline in non-CIS countries was partially offset by an increase in supplies to EAEU member states. In 2023, export growth in this direction will continue,” Birulin noted.
