According to information from Ia Nan Border Guard Station, Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard, at 4:00 a.m. on July 18, the patrol team arrested two subjects transporting 200kg of fireworks across the border.
Accordingly, the Ia Nan Border Guard Station patrol team coordinated with the police force to organize an ambush on the border and discovered 2 subjects driving motorbikes with license plates: 81B2- 655.53 and 81B1- 56647, each vehicle carrying 1 sack from the other side of the border to Vietnam.
The patrol team signaled to stop and check, and discovered that each vehicle was carrying 60 boxes of paper (suspected to be firecrackers) in the sack. A quick investigation revealed that the group of subjects included: Tran Van Kha, born in 1991, permanent residence in Ia Mut village, Ia Dom commune, Gia Lai province; Tran Van Truong, born in 1987, permanent residence in Ia Nhu village, Ia Nan commune, Gia Lai province. The two subjects confessed to using a motorbike to transport 120 boxes of firecrackers bought from a Cambodian (name unknown), with the purpose of buying them back to Vietnam to sell for profit.
The patrol team proceeded to draw up a record of temporary detention of people, vehicles, and exhibits and brought them to the station for investigation, verification, and handling according to the provisions of law.
