On July 24, the Office of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee issued a notice of the conclusion of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan at the meeting to listen to the Department of Education and Training report on the review and proposal of investment needs to build boarding and semi-boarding schools in 7 border communes, including: Ia Dom, Ia Nan, Ia Pnôn, Ia O, Ia Chia, Ia Mo and Ia Púch.
According to the report, this area currently has 21 schools from kindergarten to high school, with a total of 10,323 students. Of these, more than 7,100 students need to study at boarding and semi-boarding schools. To meet this demand, the province needs to build new, supplement and complete about 406 classrooms and functional rooms. The total investment cost is expected to be more than 378 billion VND.

According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, the construction of boarding and semi-boarding schools in border communes is not only a practical solution to improve the quality of education but also demonstrates the special attention of the Central Government to the cause of education in mountainous and border areas. This policy is consistent with the spirit of Notice No. 81-TB/TW dated July 18, 2025 of the Politburo on the policy of investing in building schools for border communes.
For effective implementation, Mr. Tuan requested the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with local authorities to urgently review and adjust the planning for the construction of boarding and semi-boarding schools in the 7 communes mentioned above. The planning location must ensure safety, enough space for studying and living, be close to residential centers and have the ability to be used stably in the next 5-10 years.
The Department of Education and Training is assigned to proactively coordinate with the Department of Finance and the People's Committees of communes to assess the current situation and propose investment plans suitable to actual conditions. The goal is that by the 2026-2027 school year, all students in border areas will be able to study in spacious, solid schools with full teaching and learning equipment.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested relevant departments and branches to continue to support and create conditions to accelerate the construction of the boarding and semi-boarding school system, contributing to stabilizing the population, developing the socio -economy and maintaining border security of Gia Lai province.
