Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region remained stable today, July 21st. Over the past week, paddy prices fluctuated, rising and falling, while milled rice prices remained stable. The rice market has a steady supply and stable trading activity.
The rice market in localities across the Mekong Delta today is generally stable, with diverse quality, but there is a lot of poor-quality rice and little good-quality rice. Specifically in Sa Dec (Dong Thap), rice supply is stable but quality is poor, transactions are slow, and there is a lot of poor-quality rice due to storms and heavy rain. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang ), prices are stable, and transactions are sluggish.
According to an update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, rice prices remained stable compared to yesterday. Specifically, IR 504 summer-autumn raw rice maintained its price at 10,650-10,750 VND/kg; finished IR 504 rice remained at 12,500-12,600 VND/kg.
Similarly, by-product prices today remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, the price of IR 504 rice bran is at 8,700 – 8,900 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry rice bran remains stable at 7,000 – 7,200 VND/kg.
Over the past week, paddy prices fluctuated, trending downwards in the middle of the week before rising sharply towards the end. In many localities, rice prices remained relatively stable, with sluggish trading and stable warehouse prices.

At retail markets, rice prices remained largely unchanged for most individual rice varieties. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed at the highest price of 30,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice at 18,000-20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice at 20,000 VND/kg; regular white rice fluctuating around 15,000-16,000 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice at 20,000-21,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice at 20,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice at 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice at 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice at 18,500 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice at 20,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice at 22,000 VND/kg.
Regarding rice, observations in various localities show that rice transactions are slow due to rain, with many places halting purchases, prices remaining relatively stable, and demand quite strong.
Specifically, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, rice prices remained stable compared to yesterday. IR 50404 rice fluctuated around 6,900 – 7,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice was priced at 7,100 – 7,300 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice was priced at 6,900 – 7,200 VND/kg; OM 18 rice was priced at 7,000 – 7,200 VND/kg; OM 380 rice fluctuated from 7,000 – 7,200 VND/kg; Nhat rice was at 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice was priced at 6,600 – 6,800 VND/kg, and Nang Nhen (dried) rice was at 20,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, the glutinous rice market showed no adjustment compared to yesterday. Three-month-old glutinous rice is priced at 7,100 – 7,300 VND/kg. Additionally, dried Long An glutinous rice is priced at 9,000 – 9,200 VND/kg. On the other hand, fresh three-month-old glutinous rice remains stable compared to yesterday at 7,100 – 7,300 VND/kg, and Long An glutinous rice at 7,400 – 7,600 VND/kg.
On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice remained stable at US$460/ton; standard 5% broken rice held steady at US$560/ton; and 25% broken rice was at US$537/ton.
