According to records at purchasing warehouses in the Mekong Delta region, the price of durian today, April 1, fluctuates depending on the type, quality and rate of qualified goods. In the Central Highlands, durian purchase prices are also remaining high, especially for Thai and Ri6 varieties. Specifically, Ri6 durian type A ranges from 68,000 - 72,000 VND/kg, type B from 48,000 - 52,000 VND/kg, and type C around 38,000 VND/kg.
For Thai varieties in the Central Highlands, type A is priced at 120,000 VND/kg, type B ranges from 100,000 - 105,000 VND/kg, while type C remains at 50,000 VND/kg.
Many traders said that domestic demand is increasing slightly thanks to hot weather, stimulating the purchase of fresh fruit, while exports to China continue to be stable, helping to keep durian prices high for grade A and VIP products.
Durian prices in key regions are currently mainly influenced by the proportion of A and VIP grade fruits in the total harvest. Supply is not yet abundant, so the price of high-grade Thai durian is likely to remain at a good level in the short term. However, if the harvest increases simultaneously from mid-April, prices may slightly adjust.
Some export enterprises are also increasing the purchase of qualified raw durian to serve orders to China through official channels. Therefore, the price of grade A and VIP durian still has the potential to remain high, especially in famous growing areas such as Tien Giang, Ben Tre , and Dak Lak.
