The buying price of 4-digit 9 gold bars at SJC Hanoi was listed at 66.5 million VND per tael and the selling price was 67.12 million VND.
Doji Hanoi listed the price at 66.5 million VND per tael for buying and 67.1 million VND per tael for selling.
On the world market, the spot gold price on the night of June 17, Vietnam time, was traded at around 1,958.1 USD per ounce. The futures gold price was traded at 1,971.2 USD per ounce.
World gold prices increased slightly in the last trading session of the week. Last week, the market focused on the decision of the US Federal Reserve (Fed). The Fed kept interest rates unchanged after 10 consecutive increases since March 2022.
Gold is seen as a safe haven from economic uncertainty, higher interest rates have reduced the appeal of the non-yielding asset.
On the stock market , in the last trading session of the week on June 16, VN-Index decreased slightly. At the end of the trading session, VN-Index decreased by 1.75 points, down to 1,115.22 points. HNX-Index decreased by 1.09 points, down to 228.44 points. UpCoM-Index increased by 0.07 points, up to 84.62 points.
Regarding the dollar price , the exchange rate of Vietnamese Dong against the US dollar was listed by the State Bank on June 17 at 23,711 VND per USD.
The reference exchange rate at the State Bank of Vietnam on June 16 was 23,400 VND for buying and 24,846 VND for selling per USD. The USD price at commercial banks on June 17 was traded around 23,330 VND for buying and 23,700 VND for selling.
Globally, the US dollar has been on a recovery trend. The DXY index - measuring the strength of the USD against six major currencies - ended the week at 102.3 points, up 0.18% from the previous session.
World oil prices are trending up due to increased demand from China and supply cuts by OPEC+. At the end of the week, Brent crude oil prices reached $76.61 per barrel, while WTI crude oil prices reached $71.78 per barrel.
In the domestic market, the selling prices of gasoline and oil today are applied according to the prices at the management session on the afternoon of June 12 of the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade.
Accordingly, the price of RON 95 gasoline is 22,010 VND per liter. The price of E5 RON 92 gasoline is 20,870 VND per liter. The price of diesel oil increased to 18,020 VND per liter. The price of kerosene is 17,820 VND per liter.
