World gold price today 05/23/2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours

According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was at 3,289.53 USD/ounce. Today's gold price decreased by 0.69% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,286 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 104.2 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is about 16.3 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

World gold price developments in the past 24 hours.

According to Reuters, world gold prices fell more than 1%, after the USD rebounded and investors took advantage of profit taking after the price increased to a two-week high at the beginning of the session.

The U.S. dollar index (.DXY) rose 0.3%, making gold more expensive for buyers using other currencies. “We’re seeing some profit-taking pressure from the recent rally, coupled with a stronger U.S. dollar index, both of which are negative for gold,” said Jim Wycoff, senior analyst at Kitco Metals.

However, he said that “the specter of a volatile global bond market will continue to be a fundamental support factor for gold prices, helping to limit further declines.”

Tensions continued to grip global debt markets after the US House of Representatives passed President Donald Trump’s “big and beautiful” tax cut bill by a single vote. According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the bill will add about $3.8 trillion to the already $36.2 trillion federal debt over the next 10 years. Amid such political and financial uncertainty, gold remains a popular safe haven.

According to Zain Vawda, an expert at MarketPulse at OANDA, the trade agreements that the US government is expected to announce in the coming weeks will play a key role in shaping the gold price trend between now and the end of the year.

In other precious metals markets, spot silver fell 1.1% to $32.99 an ounce. Platinum edged up 0.1% to $1,077.92, while palladium lost 2.7% to $1,009.89.
