Hoa Phat 's hot-rolled coil (HRC) steel is officially exempt from EU anti-dumping duties.

Hoa Phat's HRC steel exported to Europe is subject to a 0% tariff, while the European tariff applied to other Vietnamese businesses is 12.1%. Hot-rolled steel imported from Japan into the EU is subject to tariffs ranging from 6.9% to 30.4%, and from Egypt to 11.7%.

The 0% tariff helps Hoa Phat maintain its competitive advantage in the EU market, and in particular, downstream businesses using Hoa Phat's HRC can confidently export to the EU without facing barriers related to origin of goods or dumping of raw materials.

The fact that Hoa Phat's HRC was not subject to anti-dumping duties by the EU reflects Hoa Phat's internal capabilities and international legal experience, as well as the maturity of Vietnamese businesses in adapting to and meeting the stringent standards of the global market.

Hoa Phat's success stems from optimizing costs at all stages of production, from raw materials to finished products, improving product quality, ensuring international standards at reasonable prices. Hoa Phat's accounting system is clear and transparent, ensuring full and accurate data retrieval. During the investigation, Hoa Phat cooperated closely and proactively provided all relevant data and information to the EU investigating authority.

On August 8, 2024, the European Commission (EC) issued a Notice initiating an anti-dumping investigation into certain hot-rolled steel products originating from Egypt, India, Japan, and Vietnam, imported into the European Union (EU). The dumping investigation period is from April 11, 2023, to March 31, 2024. The injury investigation period is from January 1, 2021, to March 31, 2024.

Hoa Phat Group is the largest steel producer in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. From the end of 2025, the Group's designed steel production capacity will reach 16 million tons per year, focusing primarily on hot-rolled steel coils and high-quality steel for the mechanical engineering industry. Hoa Phat holds the number one market share in the domestic market and has exported various types of steel to 40 countries and territories.

Hoa Phat will complete blast furnace No. 6, part of phase 2 of the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex project, in September 2025. Upon completion, the Group's total steel production will reach 16 million tons per year, including 9 million tons of hot-rolled steel coils, meeting 100% of the demand for this product in the Vietnamese market.
