(NLDO) – The sharp increase in world gold prices has helped SJC gold bars and gold rings rise again to the highest level in the past 3 weeks.
On the morning of January 8, SJC Company listed the buying price of SJC gold bars at VND84 million/tael and the selling price at VND85.5 million/tael, an increase of VND500,000 per tael compared to yesterday. The difference between the buying and selling price of gold bars remains at VND1.5 million/tael.
This is also the selling price of gold bars at PNJ, Mi Hong, DOJI and some commercial banks such as ACB , Sacombank, Eximbank, Vietcombank, Agribank, BIDV...
In terms of buying, the price of SJC gold bars has a difference between businesses and banks. Specifically, Mi Hong buys at 84.8 million VND/tael, ACB buys at 84.7 million VND/tael, while some other units list lower buying prices, from 83.5 million to 84 million VND/tael. However, this price is still 500,000 - 700,000 VND/tael higher than yesterday.
Similarly, the price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold also recovered after a day of decline. SJC Company traded plain gold rings at VND84 million/tael for purchase and VND85.3 million/tael for sale, up half a million VND per tael.
Gold price today increased again
Some businesses such as PNJ and Mi Hong sell gold rings at a higher price, around VND85.5 million/tael; while DOJI sells at around VND85 million/tael.
Domestic gold prices recovered following the world's upward trend. In the international market, gold prices today increased to 2,646 USD/ounce, an increase of about ten USD/ounce compared to yesterday.
Precious metals on the international market increased in the context of the USD index slightly decreasing to 108.4 points. However, the USD is still maintaining its highest level in the past 2 years.
The People's Bank of China (PBoC) bought 10 tons of gold in December 2024, the second consecutive month of increased gold reserves after a hiatus. This factor contributed to encouraging investors to buy the precious metal, helping the price of gold to rise.
Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 81.5 million VND/tael.
