World oil prices today
Today, May 22, world oil prices suddenly plummeted after two previous increases, according to data from Trading Economics and Oilprice.
Specifically, WTI oil price was trading at 61.3 USD/barrel, down 0.2 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.4% compared to yesterday.
Light sweet Brent crude oil traded at $64.50 a barrel, down $0.30 a barrel, or 0.5%.
The unexpected developments in world crude oil prices today caused the average crude oil price in May to decrease by 0.4% to 0.5% compared to April 2025 compared to the previous month. Compared to the same period in May 2024, crude oil prices still decreased sharply by over 20%.
Domestic gasoline prices today
Today's domestic gasoline and oil prices, May 22, are listed according to the adjusted price at 3:00 p.m. on May 22 by the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade. Accordingly, in this adjustment period, gasoline prices have decreased sharply, while oil prices have been adjusted to increase. Specifically:
- E5RON92 gasoline price decreased by 60 VND/liter, the highest retail price is 19,120 VND/liter.
- RON95-III gasoline price decreased by 60 VND/liter, the highest retail price is 19,530 VND/liter.
- Diesel 0.05S price increased by 180 VND/liter, retail price not higher than 17,400 VND/liter.
- Kerosene price increased by 90 VND/liter, maximum retail price is 17,310 VND/liter.
- The price of 180CST 3.5S fuel oil increased by 350 VND/kg, the highest retail price is 16,510.

Currently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance does not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for any other petroleum products on the market.
